It all begins with outstanding talent. It all begins with you. Commercial Banking provides financial solutions to businesses with annual sales generally in excess of $5 million. Our business lines are Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Middle Market Banking, and Treasury Management & Payment Solutions. The Commercial Banking Control Management Programs Team is responsible for monitoring the implementation and execution of various risk programs including providing support to the lines of business. This support may include risk and control guidance, job aid development, enterprise risk program coordination and facilitation, reporting and data analytics. This group also provides feedback to corporate on risk policies and procedures. This role must foster a support mindset and a collaborative environment that ensures timely communication and strong cooperation between this team and other front line partners. The Role: This position will report to the Control Director, within the Commercial Banking (CB) Risk Assessment and Control Program team. This role will be responsible for supporting the coordination of risk identification, assessment and control processes across CB lines of businesses and operations, and facilitating required monitoring and reporting for these activities in line with applicable procedures. This will include facilitating engagement with CB stakeholders across multiple lines of business and risk types and leadership through workshops and CRO/Independent Risk Management challenge sessions. The position will also be responsible for developing, implementing and managing changes and enhancements to Risk Assessment and Control Program processes. Role responsibilities may include: * Responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring a risk-based program to identify, assess, and mitigate possible risks associated controls in the CB business group while working in a large matrixed organization * Execute the requirements of Risk and Control Programs within CB, drive the engagement of key stakeholders to procure information and perform analyses, compile data, develop presentations and meeting materials, participate in and lead these meetings, workshops, challenge sessions and leadership review meetings * Provide subject matter guidance to ensure risk acceptances submitted by CB businesses adhere to applicable policies and procedures * Complete and maintain required documentation in the collection, preparation, and submission of risk acceptance data * Monitor business risk acceptances to ensure agreed upon actions have been sustained * Provide guidance, training and support to the LOBs and Control Teams to adapt to change and drive consistency in execution * Assist LOBs in establishing processes, routines and reporting to support Enterprise programs while maturing control management within each business * Support the requirements for, and integration with, various other Enterprise Programs within CB such as Enterprise Risk Identification and Assessment Risk Acceptance, Risk Management Effectiveness, Risk and Control Self-Assessment, Internal Control Programs, Risk Measurement, Strategic Planning, etc. * Develop solutions to support reporting and tracking in order to update senior management and various committees * Manage data/information with respect to key databases, including the System of Record providing direction to other team members * Identify emerging risks and escalate issues and risks via the enterprise escalation policy * Identify gaps and areas of improvement in existing processes and recommend improvements * Partner with Independent Risk Management and support enhancement and maturity of Enterprise programs * Influences the design and implementation of business controls programs and complex initiatives generally spanning multiple business lines * Support Management in executing responsibilities across the broader team * Support a strong risk management culture through the implementation of key risk management programs into the standard operating framework of the business Employees support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements. Required Qualifications * 7+ years of experience in risk management or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management Desired Qualifications * Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills * Advanced Microsoft Office skills * Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy * Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment * Ability to consult with business partners to define key performance metrics, dashboards or scorecards * Ability to synthesize complex analytical findings into executive level communications * Ability to translate and summarize complex data into understandable, actionable information and recommendations * Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem solving techniques * Knowledge and understanding of Tableau * Knowledge and understanding of VB (Visual Basic) * Experience creating reports in response to management, audit, or regulatory requirements * Experience leading effective collaboration across a team of project managers focusing on different functional areas for the same project * Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment Other Desired Qualifications * The candidate should be a collaborator and true team player, translating prior business knowledge and experience into strong and productive relationships internally and externally to achieve goals and meet responsibilities associated with cross-functional risk programs. They should have an understanding of all aspects of Risk Management including its control methods, processes, technologies, and regulatory requirements required to effectively manage risk and controls within a business organization. An understanding of Commercial Banking businesses would be preferred. * Knowledge and understanding of Shared Risk Platform (SHRP) or other Issue Management tools * Prior experience working in a risk, control or internal audit related role * Ability to identify business risks and mitigating controls. * Prior experience in a centralized program management function. * Experience performing aggregation, analysis and providing insights on data/reporting, including: * Assisting team members within data/reporting root cause analysis * Execute data analytics, research, and response for variances * Develop and maintain comprehensive reporting * Creating and/or updating procedures, processes, job aids, communications, and training to support the team function. * Experience working productively in an environment where work processes frequently change * Prior experience across multiple diverse business segments within a financial institution. * Technical knowledge and understanding of how to manage records, information, and records archive tools Disclaimer All offers for employment with Wells Fargo are contingent upon the candidate having successfully completed a criminal background check.
