Job Description:

Sr. Lease Accountant will be responsible for lease accounting matters such as preparing and/or reviewing capital and operating leases, appropriate calculation of financial impact of leases in accordance with GAAP policies and ASC 842, ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable, and related duties.Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Review monthly and quarterly journal entries and reconciliations related to leases
• Manage the period-end close process by ensuring the accurate and timely completion of all lease accounting entries and reconciliations
• Perform analytical review of lease related balances and provide balance sheet account movements to support cash flow reporting
• Prepare audit schedules and assist with the annual audit process on lease accounting matters
• Research, conclude and memorialize technical accounting position papers
• Act as a subject matter expert for internal teams and business partners on the implementation of feature changes to lease administration software
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SOX requirements
• Ad hoc finance and accounting projects as neededDesired Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years of directly relevant work experience in lease accounting at a publicly traded company
  • Certified Public Accountant preferred
  • In-depth and current knowledge of U.S. GAAP (particularly ASC 842), SEC regulations, and internal controls
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
  • Must have the confidence to deal with finance and non-financial employees, vendors, and clients at all levels
  • Self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced environment with firm deadlines and competing priorities
  • Excellent analytical, organization and problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
