Job Description:
The Applications Support Manager provides full leadership and
supervisory responsibility. Provides operational/service leadership
and direction to team(s). Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge
through provision of value-added perspectives or advisory services.
May contribute to the development of new techniques, models and
plans within area of expertise. Strong communication and diplomacy
skills are required. Generally has responsibility for volume,
quality, timeliness of end results and shared responsibility for
planning and budgets. Work affects an entire area, which eventually
affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the
sub-function/job family. Full supervisory responsibility, ensuring
motivation and development of team through professional leadership
to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation,
hiring, disciplinary and terminations as well as direction of daily
tasks and responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Manages an apps support team.
- Understand Banking and Finance data model to conduct file
delivery based on changed request (CR), source request testing
(SRT) and consumer subscriptions delivery.
- Execute and understand ETL data pipelines with data loading
from staging to DMART database platform.
- Strong knowledge on UNIX shell scripts to validate raw data
from Product processor source files (.dat files) before loading to
DMART tables.
- Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate across work
streams.
- Oversees process for technical issue escalation; prioritizes
technical issue resolution and also resolution of major system
outages ensuring communication to interested parties.
- Ensures resource gaps are addressed as a priority to avoid
business service disruption.
- Provides technical oversight across systems and applications,
leverages skills across apps support area.
- Active involvement in and ownership of Support Project items,
covering Stability, Efficiency, and Effectiveness initiatives.
- Take active participation in engineering efforts in business's
methodology, strategy, and organizational goals.
- Applies good understanding of concepts and procedures within
own apps support area to resolve issues.
- Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual
information in complicated and unique situations.
- Responsible for delivery of end results and contributes to
planning and formulation of procedures which directly impacts the
apps support area, influences resource planning.
- Participate in application releases, from development, testing
and deployment into production.
- Perform post release checkouts after application releases and
infrastructure updates.
- Documents platform processes, procedures and training
materials.
- Participate in discussions and requirement gathering sessions,
reaching consensus and recommending solutions on system issues and
projects.
- Coordinates and plans work activities, meetings and other tasks
that demonstrate leadership with measurable results.
- Persuades and influences others through strong communication
and diplomacy skills; may negotiate with external parties.
- Performs other duties and functions as assigned.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made,
demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation
and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving
compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to
Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal
behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing
and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as
effectively supervise the activity of others and create
accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
- 4-6 years' experience in an Apps Support role with commensurate
people management experience.
- 3years' experience with Ab Initio (Batch graphs, Continuous
graphs, Plans), AutoSys, Unix shell scripting.
- 3 years' Experiences Big data platforms preferably Cloudera and
Teradata
- Experience with App Dynamics environment monitoring
- Experience with occasionally complex and highly variable
issues.
- Domain knowledge on Banking and Financial Services experiences
preferred.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, great
teammate
- Effectively share information with other support team members
and with other technology teams
- Ability to plan and organize workload.
- Requires communication and diplomacy skills and an ability to
persuade and influence.
- Experience with defining and implementing data quality
programs.
- Understanding of QA within the Software Development Lifecycle
(SDLC) and QA methodologies
- Demonstrated logical analysis skills, attention to detail and
problem-solving proven ability to work to deadlines. Education:
