The Senior Accountant will help manage and prepare monthly financial statements and will be an integral part of the month-end close process. In addition, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for recording journal entries, performing account variance analysis, providing accounting support to other departments and business units, and other compliance related tasks. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the VP of Accounting.Summary of essential job functionsAssist Corporate Controller with management of all accounting operations and reporting functions.Participate in the process of preparation and publishing of monthly financial statements, including variance analysis.Coordinate the preparation of audit schedules including those required for the Consolidated affiliates.Support month-end and year-end close process.Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.Help identify improvements of current business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.Assist with the cash application of payments and bank reconciliationsAssist operations staff with inquiries/questions related to Accounting procedures and policies, and charges to their income statement.Perform additional duties as assignedMinimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Masters and/or CPA is preferred, but not required.3 to 7 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.SAGE 100, SAGE Intacct, and Concur experience is a plus.Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, sumif etc.)Proactive and solution oriented.Skills and SpecificationsThorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.Strong familiarity financial statement preparation and consolidation.Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process.Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
