Evaluate and provide oversight and leadership for the overall
curriculum and instructional program of the District. Responsible
for the effective and efficient operation of the components related
to curriculum, instruction and assessment. Oversee, implement, and
evaluate programs to improve student achievement and lead District
Instructional Coaches. Provide leadership for the District’s
testing and assessment program as it relates to the state
accountability system and overall student achievement. Serve as the
curriculum and instruction advisor to the Superintendent.
Qualifications: Education/Certification: Master’s degree or
certification program in Education Administration required Texas
Standard Principal Certification Grades (EC-12) Special
Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of curriculum and instruction Ability
to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
Ability to evaluate special programs effectiveness Ability to
manage budget and personnel Ability to coordinate District function
Ability to implement policy and procedures Ability to interpret
data Knowledge and understanding of testing and measurement
Understanding of assessments and state testing programs/compliance
Strong analytical and information system skills Strong
communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Experience: Five years of administrative experience in public
education Three years of experience as a classroom teacher Major
Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Direct curriculum and instructional
services to meet students’ needs. 2. Plan, implement, and evaluate
instructional programs with teachers, principals, curriculum
administrative staff, and instructional coaches, including learning
objectives, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques. 3.
Evaluate all curriculum coordinators and District instructional

and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of all special
programs including special education, and 504 services. 5. Apply
research and data to improve the content, sequence, and outcomes of
the teaching-learning process. 6. Work with appropriate staff to
develop, maintain, and revise curriculum documents based on
systematic review and analysis. 7. Oversee the planning for the
District’s summer school programs. 8. Obtain and use evaluative
findings, including student achievement data to examine
program/instructional effectiveness. 9. Involve instructional staff
in evaluating and selecting instructional materials to meet student
learning needs per policy requirements. 10. Evaluate and identify
areas of needed improvement in the instructional/curriculum support
programs and support principal growth and professional learning.
11. Support the administration of the state-testing program,
including security measures. 12. Direct the development,
implementation, and coordination of curriculum and instruction,
curriculum and instruction policies and programs covering: advanced
academics, ESL program, early childhood, gifted and talented,
physical education, reading/language arts, mathematics, science,
and social studies programs that will provide a well-balanced
student experience throughout the District. 13. Oversee and assist
in developing or selecting, administering, interpreting, and
reporting the District’s local testing program and procedures. 14.
Report detailed analysis of student measurement for local
achievement growth, state accountability data for the District. 15.
Communicate District goals, test scores, accountability measures,
and accomplishments to all stakeholders. 16. Research and provide
new knowledge and developments in assessment techniques to
curriculum staff. 17. Ensure that student progress is evaluated on
a regular, systematic basis, and the findings are used to make
instructional programs and services more effective. 18. Coordinate
and provide training to assist with the District and campus
improvement plans, and student improvement processes as required by
the Texas Education Agency. 19. Develop, maintain, and utilize the
appropriate information systems and records for campus and District

Job Descriptions 20. Demonstrate skill in coaching staff and peers;
provide technical assistance to the curriculum staff concerning the
use of data in the teaching and learning process. 21. Employ

for all District staff. 23. Assist in compiling reasonable budgets
and cost estimates based upon documented program needs. 24. Follow
all regulations and policies of Bridgeport ISD. 25. Upon request,
this position may attend meetings of the Board and provide
information for decision-making as requested. 26. Attend District
and community events as assigned by the Superintendent. 27. Provide
leadership and oversight ensuring all students have an
individualized learning plan at their campus. 28. Ensure
value-added, high quality resources for the support of core
academic programs. 29. Provide strong communication to the
Superintendent regarding the District’s curriculum and instruction
and student achievement through data analysis. 30. Perform all
other tasks and duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities:
Share supervisory responsibility for professional staff with the
school principal. Supervise teachers, paraprofessionals, clerical
personnel and others as assigned. Mental Demands/Physical
