Solovis is seeking a passionate leader and technologist to lead our Data and Integration Engineering team. As a rapidly growing FinTech SaaS provider with a suite of products that serve the institutional investing space, we are looking for the right person to help drive the development and evolution of key solutions which enable us to ingest and deliver complex data set with world-class quality, reliability and security. What you'll do

• This role is a senior leadership role, but you should relish rolling up your sleeves and getting involved in the technical details. There will be hands-on technical work required.
• Oversee the following areas: o Data ingest pipelines from data providers and partners o Data focused products o Internal Data Application o Data Infrastructure and Architecture o Complex batch processing and calculation engines
  • Develop and evolve our data processing architecture and select technical components that can be leveraged across the various components. Strategically optimize technical "investment"
  • Provide perspective that informs build vs. buy decisions
  • Define and enforce platform standards (e.g., test coverage, security policy, etc.)
  • Architect solutions that are reusable, reliable, scalable and performant
  • Help define strategy and approach for integrating products across our suite
  • Ensure our data products and components leverage continuous integration and continuous deployment as part of their foundational architecture
  • Ensure security and privacy are first-class citizens in all solutions. Leverage our best-in-class tools to do so.
  • Ensure that our solutions conform to best practices in terms of organization, operational efficiency, security and cost effectiveness.
  • Constantly research and evaluate new trends and technologies that can be utilized to improve our overall data engineering landscape
  • Own, develop and evolve integrations with key partners and external vendors
  • Define, build and mentor a team that will be able to realize your vision for data engineering
  • Ensure overall alignment with high availability, business continuity and disaster recovery of all platform components
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with key vendors
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks and issues
  • Extend and enhance internal libraries and frameworks
  • Work directly with QA and Dev teams to implement and ensure automation in the development and deployment pipelines whenever possible Requirements What you bring
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical discipline
    • 8+ years of experience including technical, managerial and leadership roles
    • 4+ years of experience in a technical leadership position responsible for teams of 5+ resources
    • Experience growing and mentoring a team including responsibility for hiring and promotion
    • The ability and desire to understand the institutional investing domain
    • Ability to interact with both Product Management and business stakeholders to create the optimal technical solution to solve challenging business problems.
    • Strong understanding of data engineering and associated architectures including experience with at least one major cloud platform. Experience with Azure is a plus.
    • General knowledge of common data engineering tools and products such as Snowflake, Spark, BigQuery, Redshift, etc..
    • Experience and knowledge of the analytics space including experience with modern data platforms, data processing techniques and analytical algorithms
    • Understanding of the key components of a robust software delivery supply chain and the process for creating and evolving a structure that is suitable for continuous delivery.
    • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code techniques and solutions
    • Working knowledge of either Python or C#
    • Ability to facilitate, understand, and contribute to technical discussions
    • Effective communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be comfortable communicating with development teams, Product Owners, Product Management, and company leadership
    • Effective influencer, able to work upward and across teams to build rapport and partner with others to solve common problems
    • Effective facilitation and conflict resolution skills - must be able to facilitate discussion of multiple approaches and drive resolution
    • High level of accountability for program execution, deliverables, and reporting to executive leadership
