PLH Group Inc is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to join the Network and Security team. The Network and Security team is responsible for all aspects of the network infrastructure and Information Security Program. The technology spectrum includes LAN/WAN, route/switch, security (firewalls, IPS/IDS, content filtering), SD-WAN, endpoint detection and response, cloud (PaaS, SaaS, IaaS), hybrid cloud integration, data center, wireless systems, Virtualization, IP Telephony, Collaboration tools, and video conferencing.As a team member, the Sr. Network Engineer has a unique opportunity to participate and lead projects in each area of responsibility.PLH Group Inc is experiencing significant growth. For this reason, several strategic and tactical initiatives are in progress, as well as technology selection and scheduling for 2022 initiatives. The Sr. Network Engineer is a new position responsible for maintaining PLH Group network infrastructure and integral in selecting and operationalizing new technology solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Apply engineering and architecture skills to research and implement advanced technologies to deliver efficient and effective Information Systems which align with business objectives
  • Communicate to both a technical and non-technical audience when interacting with personnel on an individual, group, or executive level to gain acceptance and use of information technology solutions.
  • Install and configure routers, switches, firewalls, SD-WAN elements, security appliances, wireless systems, and core network applications.
  • Apply business acumen to identify inefficiencies opportunities to streamline information systems workflow processes.
  • Collaborate with business and product development teams in the design and implementation of technology solutions.
  • Deliver technology solutions as committed utilizing Project Management skillsets.
  • Proactively manage and improve network infrastructure systems, policies, and standards
  • Resolve complex issues involving technology solutions and interconnected systems
  • Perform operational tasks related to the maintenance and security of the overall network infrastructure (LAN, WLAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and VPN infrastructure) and work with vendors, service providers, and other team members to support cross-functional business needs.Minimum QualificationsThe Sr. Network Engineer must have a minimum of 6 years hands-on experience with Route/Switch both enterprise and data center, security controls and methodologies (VPN, IP Sec, FW, Application Content filtering, identity services), VoIP Telephony, Software Defined Network, WAN/LAN, wireless systems (including controllers, APs), QoS, and strong troubleshooting skills with capabilities to decode at the packet level. Experience with cloud environments (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and hybrid integrations, scripting capabilities, EDR systems, and Windows and Linux environments is a plusAdditional Qualifications
    • Hands-on experience installing and configuring network elements and respective protocols in a multi-vendor environment, both physical and virtual routing, switching, load balancer, QoS, and wireless (Cisco, Meraki, F5, or Palo Alto)
    • Demonstrate effective use of baselining operational reporting to identify technology and security gaps, focusing on providing improvements or remediation recommendations.
    • Experience writing standard operating procedures, high/low-level design documents, and topology diagrams.
    • Configure and implement SNMP and telemetry system hardware/software
    • Hands-on experience installing and configuring security elements in a multi-vendor physical and virtual environment, firewalls (packet and layer 7), IPS/IDS, URL content filtering (Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto prefer).
    • Plan and activate a new office network infrastructure, including cabling, environmental, power, network infrastructure, and rack design.
    • Compose and maintain Visio diagrams, engineering artifacts, and compliance architecture
    • Demonstrate understanding of protocols, UDP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SIP, MPLS, RADIUS, TACACS, SNMP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRF, STP, FHRP, VLAN, and VPNs
    • Experience with cloud environments (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and hybrid integrations, scripting capabilities, EDR systems, and Windows and Linux environments is a plus
    • Knowledge and experience with identity services, security controls, PKI, and remote access methods (terminal servers, Cisco AnyConnect, Palo Alto)
    • Active Certification in one of the following areas; (Cisco, Palo Alto, Azure, AWS, Linux,
    • BA/BS in related field preferred, course studies in engineering, applied sciences, computer networking, or demonstratable work experience
