Description
Salem Media Group (publicly traded SALM) offers an exceptional
opportunity for a Sr. Network Engineer to join our Shared Services
team. **Can be remote for right experience.
As a member of the Network Shared Services (NSS) Team, the Sr.
Network Engineer will be tasked with configuring, securing and
managing Salem's Video Production Network and back-office WAN. This
individual will provide, implementation and support Salem's WAN
systems throughout the companies' nationwide markets - while
working together with NSS team members, market management and other
Salem technical staff to ensure the highest levels of system
availability.
The successful individual will be responsible for mentoring and
training other Network Engineers of the team. When needed, domestic
travel to Salem's market locations for new system deployments or
maintenance is required. The position will require that the
employee carry a company-assigned cell phone or other such remote
communications device. This position reports directly to the
Network Shared Services Manager.
Potential candidates must possess a range of the following
skills:
Ideal candidate will have a strong networking background with a
focus on Fortinet and Cisco hardware
Extensive knowledge and experience of Firewall, Route and Switch
design, configuration, and troubleshooting
Knowledge of Best Practices in:
Routing protocols OSPF and BGP
WAN connectivity mediums including T1/T3 and Metro Ethernet
Fortinet SD-WAN, ADVPN, IPSEC VTI
MC-LAG / ICL, SNMP, NTP, Spanning-Tree and Port Channel
QoS and Traffic Shaping understanding and configuration, able to
customize across all Fortinet and Cisco platforms to support Voice,
Video, and selected applications
Extensive knowledge and experience optimization Video and Voice
quality using Fortinet platforms.
Solid command of FortiOS, Cisco IOS systems
Essential Functions:
Designing, troubleshooting and implementing SD-WAN / VPN converged
networks using FortiGate technologies.
Plans, forecasts, identifies and implements resource requirements
for complex voice and data network systems.
Cross-training Associate Engineers in the use or maintenance of
network technologies
Working with FortiManger and FortiAnalyzer platforms.
Evaluates new software and existing products/systems and resolves
network problems as they occur.
Provides users with advanced network technical support and
solutions while responding to needs and questions of users
concerning access to network resources.
Lan/Wan Routing and switching support for Salem's nationwide
WAN.
Desired Job/Education Experience:
Minimum 6+ years experience leading complex project builds with
proven performance to achieve on-time completion of projects.
Fortinet NSE 5+ or equivalent experience
Other Qualifications:
Candidates must be internally motivated and self-driven for
excellent results.
Must be able to recommend sound and effective infrastructure
designs that align with business objectives.
The ability to proactively identify opportunities for improvement
in the technical environment and organizational processes is
strongly desired. Must have strong leadership skills, providing
project leadership as needed, as well as excellent written and
verbal communication skills.
The ability to work in a team or work independently on complex
tasks with minimal technical and management guidance is
required.
Must be able to meet deadlines and deliver status updates to
project team
We offer a salary plus commission and bonus based on experience
with a full benefits package including paid holidays, Health
Insurance, matching 401K and vacation.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000 per year depending on
experience
