McKesson requires new employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as defined by the CDC, subject to applicable, verified accommodation requests.Position SummaryTechnical accounting requirements have expanded considerably in the past several years within McKesson's Pharmacy Services & Solutions Business. The Manager, Technical Accounting will contribute to adoption of new accounting policies, acquisition of new companies, conformity with McKesson policies, expansion of legal entity reporting requirements, and general support of the business necessitates a timely and thoughtful application of accounting guidance for McKesson's largest business segment.Position DescriptionAnalyze complex issues and facilitate completion of organizational objectives through communication and coordination with other departments.Support segment-specific technical accounting questions for monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and as otherwise needed.Implementation and application of new and existing accounting policies, including convergence initiatives.Support due diligence efforts and purchase accounting activities for acquisitions.Manage accounting and reporting of segment restructuring and dissolution or sale activities.Apply current accounting guidance. Monitor financial reporting/accounting issues as developed by the SEC, FASB and other technical authorities and assist in change management to ensure proper application of guidance.Aid in the preparation of reporting schedules and analysis provided to Corporate for consolidated reporting and specific projects on ad hoc basis.Prepare whitepapers on all activities above to act as documentation and SOX controls.Act as a key contact for business leaders and customersCritical Skills4 years of successful general or technical accounting experienceProficiency in US GAAP, including business combination and divesture, VIE/consolidation/equity method, revenue recognition, and SOX requirementsStrong verbal and written communication skills (ability to develop concise and effective communications tailored to specific audiences)Strong analytical skills and attention to detailAbility to extrapolate solutions to unique issuesStrong ability to influence and provide strategic recommendationsExperience working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regionsExpertise with MS Excel and PowerPointPublic accounting experience preferredAdditional Knowledge & SkillsExperience in SAP and/or Peoplesoft preferredEssbase and HFM experience beneficialEducation4-year degree in accounting or financeCertifications/LicensureCPA requiredPhysical RequirementsGeneral office demandsMcKesson is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
