Stratus also provides remote cardiac testing to support the diagnostic testing needs of the neurology community. Additionally, the company's research & development division holds the world's largest database of de-identified EEG recordings and is applying machine learning to improve the overall quality and efficiency of EEG testing.What is an EEG you might ask?EEGs are necessary tests where electrodes (with wires to connect to a small portable device) are placed on your head and record the brainwave activity. The results of the test, along with corresponding video, help doctors identify what is happening physically and electrically. These non-invasive tests are key to helping patients receive proper diagnosis and treatment.Job Overview:The Verification of Benefits (VOB) Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the VOB department. The VOB Manager provides direction to all members of the VOB team to ensure patient benefits are verified in accordance with Company guidelines. Also responsible to ensure that patient expectations are met to achieve exceptional customer service while maximizing business profitability.Primary Job Responsibilities:Supervise the members of the VOB team. Plan, organize the direct the activities of the team Provide leadership, oversight and technical guidance to the team and assist in resolving difficult casesMonitor, evaluate and document the performance of the team to ensure compliance with operating procedures and standard practicesConduct regular team meetings to discuss updates and program changesTrain team members in the use of DME software system, supplemental applications, job responsibilities and departmental workflow. Ensure the team meets quality, productivity and turnaround standards associated with the VOB departmentTrack daily reporting of hours, respond to time off requests and manage weekly schedulingParticipate in the interviewing, hiring and onboarding of new team membersRespond to patient inquiries, requests and issues when situations get escalatedCommunicate and collaborate effectively with other departmentsContinually monitor daily operations and make suggestions and recommendations to continually operational workflowAdhere to HIPAA regulations, Company Confidentiality and Code of ConductAdhere to False Claims Whistleblower Rights, Stark Law and Anti-Kickback regulationsPerform other duties as assignedEducation/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of 3 years of previous experience in medical billing and coding, insurance verification or similar Qualifications:Superior customer service orientation Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, often when there are competing prioritiesAbility to adapt quickly to changeAbility to communicate effectively with referral sources, staff, patients and insurance companiesComputer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word and ExcelStrong written and oral communications skillsAbility to multi-task and be highly organizedAbility to problem solve and make decisionsSuperior attention to detailExtensive knowledge of insurance carriersAble to work independently, with minimal supervisionRequired Licenses/Certification:NonePhysical Requirements:Able to sit for extended periods of timeRepetitive use of fingers and handsTalking and hearingReaching with hands and armsClarity of vision at 20 feet or lessMental Requirements:Data entryRead, evaluate and interpret dataPerform mathematical functionsWork Environment:Standard office environmentHazards:NoneBenefits:Laptop401K with company matchComprehensive benefits packageIn-house training providedHighly competitive compensationEmployee education assistancePTO and paid HolidaysStratus is an equal opportunity employer.
