transforming. What you'll do As head of the Sales Analytics team,
you will be responsible for providing actionable insights that
enable data driven decision making in the Sales organization. You
will work with the Sales leadership team to identify root causes of
trends impacting Sales and general business performance. You will
support recurring performance reviews and will be responsible for
explaining Sales performance to Sales leadership as well as
producing executive presentations. In addition, you will support
the Vendor Marketing team to help increase the volume and quality
of Sales leads through reporting. And you will support the Vendor
Services team with reporting and analysis to improve operational
efficiency. You will manage a team of analysts and dashboard
development specialists and manage the development and
implementation of data products and algorithms to support Sales
performance. You will work with your team to create the blueprint
for Sales information delivery, understanding the status and
function of existing data and systems while building new
capabilities to increase the accuracy, consistency, and
accessibility of information. You will be responsible for
implementing scalable reporting and data access tools to ensure
decentralized access to critical information. The specific
responsibilities of the position include
- Use data and analytics to support Gartner Digital Market's
mission to be the leading resource for software and services buyers
and sellers
- Support various customers and information needs within the
Sales organization through reporting, data access, ad hoc analysis
as well as presentation of key findings and insights
- Work with Sales leadership and other stakeholders to analyze
underlying drivers and root causes of Sales performance trends
- Track leading indicators of Sales performance to reduce time to
respond to emerging trends
- Partner with Sales management to help assess and communicate
Sales performance up and down the Sales hierarchy
- Create reports, slides, charts and other visual material to
communicate Sales performance and support the Sales performance
review process
- Work with Sales Operations and other Sales functions to
identify data and reporting requirements and ensure information
requirements are met across all lead stages
- Benchmark business unit Sales data and reporting capabilities
against internal and industry standards to inform reporting
development roadmap
- Develop a deep and thorough understanding of the data sources
and data processing methodologies used to produce Sales
reporting
- Map data systems and data flows to ensure accuracy and
consistency of data across touchpoints and inform the data
development roadmap to ensure full coverage across Sales lead
funnel
- Catalog existing Sales data and reporting assets as well as
reporting usage trends to create guidelines for both new
development and utilization of existing assets
- Work with data engineering and data product managers to improve
upstream Sales data stability and accuracy and close gaps in
existing data capabilities
- Partner with Analytics Operations to identify and resolve data
application issues that impact the delivery of daily Sales
performance reporting
- Analyze the impact of major Sales initiatives and assess
resulting impact to Sales performance
- Manage daily production as well as long term maintenance and
improvement of the suite of Sales reporting dashboards
- Support adoption of Sales reporting through coordinated
training, documentation, UX standardization, etc.
- Support Sales compensation and individual performance reporting
for HR and Sales leadership
- Drive adoption of common reporting data across dashboards and
other views of Sales performance to reduce inconsistency of
reporting and increase confidence in the data
- Partner with Analytics Operations to identify and implement new
application and capabilities to increase the scalability of access
to Sales information
- Manage the development of data products and algorithms as
necessary to improve the relevance or efficiency of existing
process What you'll need
- BA/BS degree, Masters degree strongly preferred
- Degree in business, economics, statistics, mathematics or
another quantitative field a plus
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in analytics, business
intelligence, consulting, data product management, or related
role
- Minimum of 4 years of experience managing direct reports
- Experience delivering data and reporting capabilities to
support Sales performance
- Experience developing data products from requirements
identification through adoption
- Experience with project planning and central management of
complex, multi-functional projects
- Experience producing effective written and visual communication
for executive audiences
- Experience with Sales CRM systems a plus (Salesforce,
SugarCRM)
- Experience with SQL or similar database scripting languages a
plus
- Experience with business intelligence and data visualization
systems a plus (Tableau, Power BI)
- Experience working with cloud-based or traditional relational
DB management systems a plus Who you are
