Job Description:
The Risk Policy Officer is a strategic professional who stays
abreast of developments within own field and contributes to
directional strategy by considering their application in own job
and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within
the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are
typically multiple people within the business that provide the same
level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and
diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and
convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and
occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area
through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related
to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an
entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and
effectiveness of the sub-function/job family. The Credit Product
Program Approval Committee ("CPPAC") Risk Governance Officer within
Global Wealth Management will be responsible (as part of Citi
Global Wealth Management) for the facilitation and co-ordination
for the end-to-end CPPAC reviews and the approval process including
agenda co-ordination and preparation of materials to be submitted
by the program owners. This role is highly visible and plays a
critical part in meeting and managing deadlines and regulatory
deliverables. The individual will act as a conduit between the
product program owners within Business and Risk and the approval
committee to ensure the end-to-end review process is completed with
the highest level of integrity. Meticulous attention to detail as
well as strong stakeholder management skills are required to
maintain momentum on the program as well as ensuring that each
stage of the program lifecycle is properly documented. Specific
CPPAC responsibilities will include the initiation of the reviews
and corresponding administration through to minute taking of the
review calls, obtaining and recording stakeholder approvals and
maintenance/guardianship of all supporting documentation. The role
will require that the individual become a subject matter expert in
Product Program Governance and Citi's internal Policies, Standards
and Procedures. There is also an expectation that, through
day-to-day execution of the role, deep knowledge of CGW business
process, products will be gained and the individual will be able to
identify and lead execution of opportunities for improvement of
product program review & approval processes and related
infrastructure & controls. Responsibilities:
- Responsibility covers managing portfolio risk policy for the
aligned products, focusing on growing and maintaining healthy
portfolios through line and various accounts maintenance programs
such as limit increase/ decrease, accounts renewals/ closure,
cross-selling between products
- Manage merchant policy for Cards product, focusing on healthy
merchant business through managed exposure and governing of
merchant acquiring policy
- Manage 3rd party exposure and key money policy (as applicable),
ensuring controllable exposure according to risk appetite
- Work together with counterparts from Business, Sales, Credit
Operations, Decision Management, Operations & Technology to ensure
correct policy implementation at an operational level
- Interact with regional counterparts for policy approval and
adherence to Global/Regional Policy requirement
- Provide analytics at portfolio and segment levels for the
purpose of monitoring, making policy adjustments, provide sound
credit decisions with the ultimate goal of optimizing risk and
rewards
- Work together with the Risk MIS team, in charge of Credit Risk
Reporting and Portfolio Quality Review Reporting, as well as
facilitating ad-hoc reporting as needed
- Responsible for reporting and accuracy of critical portfolio
data returns to the Bank's key regulators
- Responsible for the regular validation as well as new
development of the portfolio score & segmentation models through
collaboration with regional and global risk analytics team
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made,
demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation
and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving
compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to
Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal
behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing
and reporting control issues with transparency.Qualifications:
- 6-10 years experience in Statistics/Analytics/Decision
Management will be desirable
- Highly ethical and with integrity
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Effective listening skills
- Candidates must have effective negotiation skills, a proactive
and 'no surprises' approach in communicating Risk issues, strength
in sustaining autonomous views
- Able to work across levels in risk management and also with
other operations and business teams
- Excellent Presentation skills - adept at presenting effectively
to audiences of various sizes and adapting style as necessary
- Able to identify and influence key decision makers across
various levels and functions within the organization
- Able to work in a rapidly changing external environment and
support business in a highly competitive and challenging
marketEducation:
- Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferredThis job
