Team exists to strengthen the Foundation's voice by providing
meaningful data and storytelling in smart, digestible formats, thus
helping to propel the vision of Dallas College forward. The Senior
Director, External Engagement and Impact will serve as a key
resource to the Foundation Team in ensuring high-quality execution
of all external outreach, as outlined in detail in the description
below.The Senior Director, External Engagement & Impact will report
to the Executive Director. Like all Dallas College Foundation
employees, this individual is a keeper of the Dallas College
Foundation culture of philanthropy.Required Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities
- Excellent writing, editing, verbal and proofreading
skills.
- Proficiency in a variety of software applications related to
graphic design.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate
effectively with individuals from all backgrounds and varying
leadership levels.
- Strong knowledge and experience providing effective customer
service, and the ability to quickly triage problems in support of
an effective prospect or donor experience.
- Applies best practices that are in direct support of the
overall vision, mission and goals of Dallas College Foundation and
Dallas College.
- Knowledgeable about and can clearly represent own area of
responsibility, seeking new knowledge and tools to advance the
objectives of the organization.
- Cultivate alliances across internal and external boundaries to
build and maintain strong working relationships.
- Promotes positive staff, donor and community relations by
communicating organizational and departmental plans and priorities
regularly.
- Able to gather, compile, and analyze data/information/stories
and prepare collateral as requested in coordination with direct
reports.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple assignments
and projects, create detailed action plans, as well as the ability
to adapt to changing priorities, deadlines and directions.
- A demonstrated team player.
- Ability to manage and prioritize assignments; prepare and
maintain accurate records, operate standard office equipment;
utilize relevant software applications; and facilitate meetings and
projects.
- Capacity to work with numerous team entities to help meet
personal and shared goals and metrics.
- Interact and work cooperatively with Dallas College Foundation
and Dallas College colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and be a strong, effective team
player, committed to delivering timely results; excellent
organization skills; effectively manages multiple tasks and
projects simultaneously.
- Ability to choose effective and appropriate communication and
communicate in a respectful tone and manner, listen actively, and
write clearly and accurately in a variety of contexts and
formats.
- Experience with social media calendaring, strategy, and
management.
- Events management experience preferred.Key Responsibilities
- Ensure storytelling and external engagement at Dallas College
Foundation is well-aligned and coordinated with Dallas College
Marketing & Communications strategy and procedures.
- Strategic manager of Dallas College Foundation events, ensuring
that every event is a cultivation and actionable "touch" for
prospective donors.
- Delegate tasks in support of events management for Dallas
College Foundation.
- Work in partnership with Dallas College marketing to approve
all external writing from Dallas College Foundation.
- Regular collaboration with the Director of Marketing at Dallas
College.
- Final approver for Senior Manager, Impact & Engagement.
- Draft campaign content in partnership with Dallas College.
- Manage a team of two (Senior Manager, External Engagement &
Impact and Graphic & Web Designer).
- Manage outside marketing partnerships.
- Assume ownership, drafting, and delegation of deliverables
including:
- Annual Report
- Social media
- Newsletters
- Cases for support
- Proposals
- Speaking points
- Press releases/public relations
- Website
- Other Dallas College Foundation related collateral and
materials
- Work closely with the Executive Director to help position
Dallas College Foundation language and cultivation as a method to
effectively share Dallas College's vision.
- Assist the Development Team in preparation for select donor
meetings as needed to help team members gather or create needed
collateral; similarly, support the team to deliver fast-moving
requests from donors and board members to help provide
information.
- Perform other duties as assigned and deemed relevant.
- Identify and share ideas to deepen the donor experience via
cultivation or stewardship opportunities.
- Works toward meeting and exceeding team and individual goals
and metrics.
- Plan, write, edit, proof, test, improve, and approve
content.
- Work with content staff to ensure cohesive content experiences
with a consistent voice and tone.
- Displays high competency in project management, working in a
fast-paced and complex environment, execution of large projects,
and working under multiple and competing deadlines.
- Monitor and update the status of content jobs assigned and
communicates progress to the Executive Director.
- Guide Senior Manager in best practices, delegation, teamwork,
and approval of all external facing material or experiences.
- Completes required Dallas College Professional Development
training hours per academic year.
- Performs other duties as assigned.Physical RequirementsNormal

responsibilities.Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree plus four (4) years of related work
experience plus supervisory experience preferred.
- Official transcripts are required.
- Must have a valid driver's license for off-site travel.
- Work hours may extend beyond the typical eight hours,
Monday-Friday, workday, including weekends and holidays to provide
immediate support in exceptional cases
