Job Description:

This position provides executive leadership and directs the overall operation of CareNow clinics and all Urgent Care Service Centers in Dallas/Fort Worth consistent with policies and objectives established by Physician Service Group and HCA leadership. In this regard, the COO plans, organizes, applies, directs, controls and evaluates all resources (human resources, facilities, equipment, capital and similar resources) invested in the market. This position establishes effective relationships with the division leadership group and works closely with the Division President, the Division EVP & Chief Administration Officer and UC Service Line President on the urgent care market strategy. The COO uses all resources to generate measurable returns to benefit the company, the community, the physician and most of all, the patient. CareNow is one of the largest Urgent care groups in the country with 34 locations in Dallas/Fort Worth and surrounding communities. CareNow employs 800+ staff and APPs. This position is responsible for $100+million in revenue and works with the physicians and executive leadership to provide strategic direction, innovative practice growth and quality solutions that will maintain and improve patient outcome and satisfaction. CareNow has consistently outperformed the Urgent Care industry in several key financial and operational metrics. This individual must possess established, successful and creative strategic planning, tactical implementation and practice management experience. The position is responsible for the overall strategy development, communication and implementation of the business plan for the DFW market including growth, patient satisfaction, quality, physician relationships and people management. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Provides leadership and direction to the market operations and financial leadership team. Develops and communicates a long-range course of action and set of goals to ensure successful realization of the organization's vision. Establishes, communicates, monitors and provides in-depth analysis of key business metrics for the market with a deep understanding of overall business performance. Establishes and communicates clear goals that align CareNow/DFW UC service line with overall Urgent Care Strategy for PSG. Holds people accountable to achieving goals. Ensures synergies between service line, PSG and HCA people, process, and strategies to drive execution of business objectives. Builds a competitively superior organization by attracting, developing, and retaining talent to ensure that people with the right skills and motivations are in the right places at the right time to meet business needs. Understands and communicates the HCA/PSG/Urgent Care culture with a focus on employee engagement and employee retention. Scope of the role includes multi-site management. Builds and drives sustained revenue growth. Builds strategic alliances outside the organization to create business opportunities and execute business strategies. Develops an organizational culture that leads to ongoing excellence and effective growth of the business while maintaining the highest integrity. Collaborates with the North Texas Division President, the Division EVP & CAO, Hospital CEOs, and other division leaders to ensure good communication and proper execution of all initiatives. Ensures proper alignment with our physician and provider partners. Assures each clinic is in full compliance with HCA and PSG policies, regulations and legal requirements including ethics requirements and expectations. Ensures Business Continuity. Clearly communicates and exemplifies HCA, PSG and CareNow Mission and Values Builds strong CareNow culture through employee engagement Ensures successful integration with HCA including the Referral Management Program, MCCUC'S , and other key initiatives Successfully develops and timely opens new clinic locations Develops and executes business plan for additional sites to complete the DFW market. Participates in the development and execution of the market business plan. Strengthens organizational infrastructure and develops leadership pipeline to support future growth of Service Line and Shared Services capabilities. Qualifications EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE In depth and up to date knowledge of healthcare administration typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree, preferably a Master's degree, in a business or healthcare related discipline. In addition, candidate must possess at least ten years practice/healthcare senior management. Experience in Urgent Care setting is strongly preferred. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS The Chief Operating Officer must possess a current knowledge of the healthcare industry, accrediting organizations, state and federal guidelines, regulations and standards. The COO must possess strong communications skills, demonstrate expertise in negotiation, strategic planning, leading people and change, business and financial acumen, and exhibit a focus on the patient experience. The COO must be highly skilled in building relationships with executive leaders, providers, direct reports, employees and community members. Serves as a senior mentor to leadership team and works to build organizational talent through talent assessment and leadership development.
