Position: Cytologist / Cytotechnologist / Cytogenetic Location:
Central DFW, TXDuration: Full Time - Permanent Placement - Direct
HireJob Summary: The Cytotechnologist accurately screens liquid
base, conventional and non-gynecological slides. This position is
responsible for screening and reporting cytology specimens in a
timely and accuratemanner. Laboratory operates on a 24/7/365 basis;
individual may be required to work various shifts, including days,
nights, weekends, and holidays. Schedule flexibility with and
without advanced notice is required.Job Duties:
- Performs primary screening of Gynecological and
Non-gynecological samples. Renders interpretation and appropriate
comments in accordance with established department reporting
procedures.
- Performs Quality Control screening.
- Maintains daily record of slides screened/hours worked at
laboratory nd slides screened/hours worked at any other outside
employer per procedure manual.
- Maintains open communication with department supervisor,
pathologist, and co-workers to ensure optimal operation of the
department.
- Provides technical consultation for Cyto-processing
technicians, assists in prep work when directed by Supervisor.
- Maintains high level of proficiency and current knowledge
through continuing education.
- Complies with requirements of accreditation and regulatory
agencies.
- Supports corporate policies and objectives, complies with
quality assurance, safety, and environmental and infection control
protocols.
- Assists at intra-operative procedures using remote
telepathology.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the SupervisorJob
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED: Required---
- At least one (1) of the following is: Required
- Bachelor of Science degree in cytotechnology, plus graduation
from a school of cytotechnology accredited school.
- Bachelor of Science degree in a biological science, plus
graduation from a school of cytotechnology accredited school.
- Cytotechnologist Qualifications as outlined in Federal
Register, 42 CFR - 493.1483
- American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Certification:
Required
- Minimum 3 years of experience: preferred

- Active and valid US State-Issued Driver's License Driver's
License with acceptable motor vehicle record as defined and
