ECMO ICU Opportunities The ECMO ICU is looking for experienced ICU RN’s who strive to deliver the highest quality care for our ECMO population. The ECMO ICU RN is competent in all mechanical circulatory devices including percutaneous and implantable ventricular assist devices, intra-aortic balloon pumps, continuous renal replacement therapy and ECMO. Our team is dedicated, efficient, inspiring and committed to providing the most elite extracorporeal care available in the world. ECMO ICU Patient Population: All ECLS patients receiving VA, VV, VP, VA-V, RVAD and ECPR therapies. Disease processes including but not limited to postcardiotomy syndrome, cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure, pre and post heart/lung transplant, ARDS, and post cardiac arrest. Patient Ratios: 1:1 RN to ECMO patient ratio alongside an ECMO Specialist to pump ratio 1:3 Department Specifics: 10 dedicated ECMO beds located inside CTTICU, dedicated ICU physicians and ACNP coverage 24/7, 100% certification rate (CCRN, CSC), multiple research trials and publications, and 1 of 2 NTX ECMO programs with ECMO Specialist RN led transport teams. Seasonal Commitment Information - Seasonal weekly requirements are FT shifts/hours for the 13-week contract (excludes 1st week of orientation) - $1,500 completion bonus for meeting minimum productive time - $51/hr seasonal rate. - Weekend requirements are the same as regular FT. - The first week is Monday- Friday orientation. - Although this is a short term (13 week) assignment, you would be a Baylor employee (not contractual, agency, etc.). The hope is that once the assignment is concluded, you will convert to a regular FT, PT, or PRN role. Registered Nurse Requirements · Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program · License/Certification o RN – Registered Nurse min 1-year CVICU or SICU experience o BLS – Basic Life Support (required within 30 days of hire) o ACLS- American Heart Association o CCRN – through AACN Baylor Scott & White Health is the most awarded system in Texas!
