level Job Summary You'll assist the Trauma Manager, provide patient
care, and maintain high standards through data registry.
Collaborate with team members to ensure excellent patient care and
help achieve program goals. Your role is vital for positive patient
outcomes. Essential Functions of the Role - Be part of
multidisciplinary trauma rounds alongside physicians, aiming to
enhance patient care and spotting any quality issues. - Educate
patients, their families, and staff as required, and act as a point
of connection between patients and their families. - Oversee trauma
care at all stages, noting any complications, departures from care
standards, mortalities, or specific hospital audit filters. - Use
electronic health record system, transfer log, and activation log
to find trauma patients. Help collect data for Trauma Registry. -
Carry out concurrent reviews of patient charts and stick to
departmental deadlines for review completion. - We need your help
with Performance Improvement projects and want you involved in the
American College of Surgeons. - Help with identifying hospital
education needs. Attend Trauma courses. Opportunity to become an
instructor. - Engage in regional trauma committee programs, like
the Regional Advisory Council and GETAC, as needed. - Help the
Trauma Program Manager and Trauma Physicians by identifying,
developing, and presenting research initiatives. Key Success
Factors - A deep understanding of trauma care vocabulary and best
practices is crucial. - Possession of substantial knowledge and
proficiency in nursing and patient care protocols and procedures is
vital. - Knowing legal rules, standards, and guidelines from
certifying organizations and hospitals is crucial for every
department. - Extensive medical term knowledge is needed. -
Proficiency in medication management, understanding of physical and
physiological drug effects, and potential adverse reactions are
essential. - Commitment to medical and professional nursing ethics
and patient privacy rights is expected. - Excellent communication
skills, both verbally and in writing for clear and effective
dialogue, are needed. - Interpersonal skills for interaction with a
broad range of stakeholders are a must. - Demonstrable critical
thinking and problem-solving abilities are required. - Skillful in
understanding, optimizing, and recording complex processes. -
Expected skills include Microsoft Office, information security,
scheduling, electronic medical documentation, and email navigation

Experience: At least (3) three years in a relevant field - Must be
a licensed Registered Nurse - Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced
Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification are required before or
within 30 days of starting a new job. - Trauma Outcomes &
Performance (TOPIC): TOPIC within 1 year of hire. - Emergency Nrs
Pediatric (ENPC), Pedi Adv Life Support (PALS): PALS within 30 days
or ENPC within 180 days of hire. - RN- Advanced Trauma Care (ATCN),
Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC): TNCC or ATCN within 180 days of
hire.
