To review a comprehensive list of benefits, please visit CT and CO only -To review pay ranges for the position you are applying for, please visit The Set-up Coordinator monitors, assists, coordinates, and reports on all activities pertaining to an assigned new store, relocation, remodel or other project from fixture installation through soft opening (or hand off to field management). The Set-up Coordinator guides the store management team through project execution as the process expert, follows up on execution of calendar tasks with the applicable captain, and ensures that a project is 100% complete prior to opening. Within the Store Planning Department the Coordinator implements, produces, monitors, and maintains all projects, programs and functions assigned in assisting their assigned Manager of in the performance of his or her duties.Major Activities

  • Monitors, assists, coordinates and reports on all activities pertaining to one or more assigned new stores from fixture installation through soft opening. -Coordination occurs between/amongst the new store manager, district and regional managers, other corporate personnel, and vendors. -Coordination is conducted to insure that the new store opening process proceeds within the guidance and framework of the new store opening program as outlined in the most current New Store Opening Manual, New Store Countdown Calendar and department/company policies, procedures and checklists.
  • Provides training to store personnel during the course of a set-up on set-up specific procedures such as receiving & planogram sets.
  • Performs all or a portion of new store related tasks to relocations, remodels or other special field projects if assigned.
  • Assists in the production, distribution, and implementation of Store Planning Department documentation and in the receiving, assembly and shipping of New Store Packages. - -Specialist may be assigned as the principle manager of or in a support role for one of these projects.
  • Performs any additional projects, tasks, research and other related assignments as assigned by their respective manager.
  • Makes all travel arrangements for themselves and their assigned set-up supervisor in accordance with department policies & procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned -Minimum Education - -
    • High School Degree Minimum Type of experience the job requires - -
      • Two or more years of successful experience in store management at Assistant Manager / CEM / Merchandising / Replenishment Managers
      • Experience with the systems, policies, programs and procedures associated with the operation of a Michaels store Other - - -
        • Frequent travel away from home for sometimes protracted periods of time (up to 4 weeks) -
        • Core work schedule includes night & weekend shifts. Overnights if assigned to a Remodel Project Preferred Type of experience the job requires - -
          • One or more successful years of experience in a management / leadership positionApplicants in the U.S. and Canada must satisfy federal, state, provincial and local legal requirements of the job.
