This is an Observability DevOps position in Inventory Data & Enterprise Application Services (IDEAS) Observability group that will play a key role in Onboarding of a large scale based Monitoring solution for various critical traditional compute environments, private cloud, Openshift container platforms for Observability initiatives in the enterprise. Focus is on systems and application monitoring (log, metrics events), covering existing and open source monitoring tooling, as well as public cloud monitoring services.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the business teams to develop standards for both log and metrics framework to measure performance and availability of applications and infrastructures
• Certify and package software on log aggregation tools like Elastic and Splunk.
• Develop and engineer availability solutions.
• Collaborate and aid data engineers with defining data models across various telemetry data in Observability (log, metrics events)
• Collaborate with the business teams to develop metrics measuring the performance against initiatives and report on those to stakeholders
• Collaborate with Engineers and developers to formulate an automated onboarding of applications and technology stack to centralized Observability platforms
• Automated Configuration and deployment of Elasticsearch and Prometheus platforms
• Tuning and improvement of the performance and throughput of data ingested in Elasticsearch
• SME in elastic and help production support teams to deliver for clients services.
• Participate in Sprint Planning and daily scrums Requirements:
  • Advance experience in Elastic stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash & Beats)
  • Advance Experience in Perl and Python Shell Scripting.
  • Experience in various coding skills on applications
  • Experience in understanding software packaging modules.
  • Experience in Windows, linux, Cloud environments
  • Experience in Ansible (Starfleet)
  • Experience in bitbucket, Github
  • Experience in Agile - handling scrums and standard development tools - jenkins, Artifactory, bitbucket, jira, confluence
  • Experience on data technologies (e.g Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Sensu )
  • Understanding of data modeling techniques
  • Hands on experience in data visualization using Grafana, Prometheus, Elasticsearch, Splunk
  • Hands on experience with querying languages (PromQL, SQL, NoSQL, Hive, SparkQL, SPL - Splunk Search Processing Language, Lucene).
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective analytic/diagnostic skills
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audience.
    • A good team player and able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move towards consensus.
