J&S Audio Visual (JSAV) is looking for a leader to manage their HR department. The ideal candidate will be a good balance between a visionary leader, producer and delegator. The successful candidate will be a relationship builder, creative problem solver, and professional with ethics and integrity.

JSAV is a creative technology and event production company with a 35-year history of producing events in across the US, Mexico, and the Caribbean. JSAV US consists of a Hospitality division that serves over 80 hotels and convention centers and a Show Services division that delivers thousands of events across the US every year.

Job Responsibilities

Lead the HR Team and manage routine tasks Manage all functions of the human resources department

Supervise the HR team (HR Generalist and Payroll Administrator)

Build robust HR processes and implement systems to enable efficient HR management of recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll and off-boarding

Evaluate and manage the bi-weekly payroll process (ADP) and act as back up payroll administrator when needed

Manage all internal payroll audits

Manage leave of absences including FMLA

Manage 401(k) administration, partner with broker on any plan changes/communications

o Manage the 401(k)-audit process, complete and file the 401(k) 5500 form and complete non-discrimination testing

Manage the workers compensation plan claims process and annual audits

o Manage the annual EE0-1 reporting, OSHA 300 log and 1095 C reporting

Manage the employee reporting hotline for comments and complaints

Manage HR policy matters Partner with managers on all employee relations matters including disciplinary actions, written warnings, sexual harassment, misconduct complaints and terminations

Represent the company in all legal proceedings, obtain requested documents and partner with legal counsel

Respond to all unemployment claims, attend hearings and be successful in reducing claim costs

o Manage the tracking and reporting of the Affordable Care Act regulations

Know, monitor, and communicate HR policy

o Ensure organizational compliance with federal, state and local employment laws, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, requirements, and recommended best practices

Review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance (including in CA)

o Evaluate all health benefit plans yearly, administer benefit programs, and manage the open enrollment process

Drive talent recruitment Recruit for all positions within the corporate office and remote locations (22 States/75 locations) using the ATS system (Clear Company)

o Develop and lead a full cycle recruitment strategy directly impacting the bottom line and turnover numbers

Effectively structure benefits programs to attract and retain top talent

o Review background/drug test results when necessary

Advise JSAV leaders and contribute to companywide initiatives

o Collaborate with executive leadership to define the organizations long-term mission and goals; identifies ways to support this mission, vision and values

Design, implement and manage the employee engagement survey process

o Manage and initiate the annual performance review process

Complete quarterly HR initiatives that improve company performance

Partner with the safety representative on new safety and training programs

Communicate human resources changes and goals to employees

Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Education and prior experience Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fields

Previous experience working as a HR Director/Manager for 10 plus years

Previous experience managing HR at a company with $50-150M in annual revenue and conducting multi-state operations

Services related industry experience

Technical skills Intermediate level computer skills with Microsoft business applications software

Payroll system administration and hands-on management experience (ADP knowledge is a plus)

ATS system experience (Clear Company knowledge is helpful)

Multi- State In-depth knowledge of employment legislation (including California)

Knowledge of professional best practices and industry trends as they apply to all HR related functions and responsibilities required

Excellent knowledge of all aspects of HR management

Personal Attributes Strong interpersonal, oral and written communications skills in dealing proactively with all levels of internal and external management including a high degree of sensitivity and change management abilities

Willingness to do the hands-on work when necessary

Sense of ownership and pride in personal performance and its impact on company’s success

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Strong analytical and decision-making skills

Attentive listening with a desire to support the team

Good time-management skills

Spanish speaking is a plus
