Job Summary

As the Lead Engineer, DevSecOps, you will be supporting the enterprise in the development of security controls, mentoring others in technical security concepts and ensuring secure cloud practices are followed. This team member will play a meaningful role in maintaining the controls that enable our organization to operate expertly, cost effectively, and within compliance standards. This role will also assist others in interpreting, understanding, and applying information security policies and standards to mitigate information security risks. You will develop positive partnerships and work closely with other members of CSOC and IT organization in a coordinated and focused manner.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

The Lead Engineer, DevSecOps is responsible for implementing and evaluating a myriad of cloud deployments, applications and services across the client. This role will work with Application Developers, Systems Engineers, and Executives to ensure mitigation of risks identified in cloud based solutions

  • Engineering background at a SaaS company. You will need to be comfortable reviewing and discussing code with other engineers
  • Familiarity with cloud security, particularly AWS and Azure Security concepts
  • Experience with security functions such as understanding cloud architecture and performing design reviews, threat modeling, code and configuration reviews, and incident response
  • You have great cloud security experience with an eye towards finding suspicious activities
  • You have experience with SIEM and data analysis tools like ELK and Splunk
  • You are able to read, and occasionally write in Python, Go, or another language
  • You have experience in operations such as running and maintaining software and services, operating a large cloud deployment, or creating and triaging alerts around the health and security of your systems
  • You enjoy continuously identifying important work and are able to engage other teams without explicit direction
  • You can understand and translate controls for information security policy frameworks such as PCI, ISO 27001 and SOC 2

Key Metrics

  • Enhances security team accomplishments and competence by planning delivery of solutions, answering technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members, teaching improved processes, mentoring team members
  • Plans security systems by evaluating network and security technologies, developing network requirements for networks and related security and network devices, implements public key infrastructure configurations (PKIs), including use of certification authorities (CAs) and digital signatures
  • Adheres to industry guidelines, best practices, and approved standards
  • Prepares system security reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Automates everyday and/or repeatable tasks, including security control enforcement
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

  • 3+ years any Cloud application security experience (Azure /AWS Cloud s preferred) including design and implementation of security architectures for large scale workload s
  • 3+ years of security remediation experience and adoption of security controls & best practices in a public cloud provider (Azure /AWS Cloud preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience working with Infrastructure as Code and DevOps culture and principles
  • 2+ years of experience using Kubernetes, Dockers, Containers
  • 2+ years of experience with infrastructure automation for continuous integration and continuous deployment of technical solutions leveraging T erraform and A nsible
  • Deep knowledge of IAM, data protection, transport, perimeter, gateway, and end-point security models in distributed cloud environments
  • Familiarity with latest trends and technologies in public cloud infrastructure, secure application development, virtual network and cloud security management
  • AZ- 500 : Microsoft Azure Security Technologies Certification or AWS Certified Security Specialty certifications (preferred )


  • Modifying, testing and deploying changes to infrastructure
  • Troubleshooting infrastructure issues
  • Regular communication with both your team and the rest of the company
  • Reporting technical system performance, maintenance, and outage issues to clients for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Being available for on-call support duties during your working hours
  • Performing code reviews
  • Take ownership at a project level for not only your own work, but work that interacts or impacts your own
  • Assisting other engineers on your team when asked for assistance
  • Carry out bug fixes and debugging not only in your own work, but others on your projects; no bug should be too obscure!
  • Take an active role in improving tooling, code, and communication whether directly on a current project or assisting others on their projects.
  • Remain informed on best practices within the industry
  • Proactively address technical issues as they arise
  • Consistently be pushing for performance and security considerations and improvements
  • Provide useful architectural input and feedback for whole systems, drawing on knowledge of DevOps fundamentals, other cloud computing paradigms or frameworks
  • Work with stakeholders and their expectations, navigating the relationship and taking ownership of stakeholder satisfaction
  • Write technical documentation for project architecture and decisions
