Overview of the Role

Reporting to the GCT Workforce Planning & Management Head, this role will be responsible for leading the Financial Planning, Prioritization & Controls function within Global Consumer Technology (GCT). This is a senior position that will require close partnership with global leaders in Technology, Business, Finance and Risk & Control.

The senior leader in this role is accountable for ensuring that we have the proper investments, prioritization and software development lifecycle controls to execute on our strategic initiatives. This will involve managing to a multi-billion-dollar budget, aligning Business and Technology investment priorities, conducting overall financial planning, managing risks, and providing oversight of financial controls and software quality assurance across a portfolio of more than 1,000 projects.

This position is integral to the operations and strategic decision-making of the company, acting as a critical enabler of delivery, shaping future strategy and ensuring a robust controls environment across the organization.

The ideal candidate will be analytical and decisive, with expertise in financial planning, data analysis, project operations and an exceptional ability to work collaboratively with business and technology executives. They should have experience leading large teams in matrix organizations with a holistic view into global financial and project reporting.

Priorities Include:

  • Partner closely with business and technology executives to ensure that investment priorities are financially sound, enabling successful delivery of our most critical business initiatives. Manage the intake prioritization process, ensuring efficient utilization of delivery capacity against book of work.

  • Manage a multi-billion-dollar budget with a high degree of quality and accuracy, driving financial reporting, controls and prioritization processes including, but not limited to: monthly forecasts, monthly actual reporting and analysis, annual operating plan, and strategic plan processes.

  • Serve as an authoritative voice on matters of financial planning and prioritization, equipping Business and Technology leaders with information and analysis that drives prudent, strategic decision-making.

  • Manage high-performing functions supporting investment prioritization, financial planning, project operations and controls, ensuring that each is data-driven and built on productive and collaborative partnerships across the organization.

  • Ensure accurate reporting, forecasting and planning of our investment priorities and financials, including ad hoc reporting for senior leaders.

  • Trusted advisor to leaders in Technology, Product and Finance, providing direction in the facilitation of business objectives and driving negotiations with internal stakeholders.

  • Own capitalization analysis across NAM Technology, managing to targets and facilitating semi-annual reviews in partnership with controllers and leadership.

  • Drive SDLC adherence in project operations, including resource-clocking allocations, artifact compliance and PQA process. Manage IT PM organization to monitor adherence and drive process changes across delivery teams.

  • Produce robust reporting for executive review, including both BAU reports and ad hoc analysis to facilitate strategic planning.

  • Partner closely with the broader GCT Workforce Planning & Management organization to implement strategies for Workforce Transformation, Engineering Capabilities, Supplier Management, Employee Engagement, Change Management and Conduct Operations.

  • Develop and implement best-in-class processes, metrics, and practices.

  • Drive successful performance management, talent management and communications.

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years' experience working in Finance with Technology. A leader who understands the Agile framework with its associated financial impact on organizations. Demonstrates knowledge of Demand Mgt processes within an organization and the overall intake process. Demonstrates the standardization and simplification of processes across multiple functions including prioritization and project operations.

  • Able to effectively engage all relevant members of the executive team to align on investment priorities and financial planning. Demonstrated success working across functional groups to achieve key operational goals that have financial implications.

  • Analytical and decisive, with expertise in financial planning, data analysis and project operations.

  • Must have the ability to synthesize, develop and present clear and concise recommendations, as well as an exceptional ability to work collaboratively with senior business and technology leaders.

  • Deep industry experience managing large technology budgets (over $1 billion) and associated project portfolios.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage self-sufficient teams that influence and drive processes across organizations.

  • Ability to lead large teams in matrix organizations with a holistic view into global financial and project reporting.

  • Strong collaborative skills. Able to establish and maintain relationships and work alongside individuals from diverse backgrounds.

  • Must be willing to lead from the front, be a "doer" while also setting strategy and thinking big-picture.

  • Ability to simplify complex issues, influence decision makers, and drive consensus.

  • High degree of autonomy and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency with Excel, data visualization tools, and reporting tools.

  • Demonstrated expertise in Project Management principles and software development lifecycle practices and methodology.

  • Manage the identification of risks that impact project delivery or compliance, and ensure mitigation strategies are developed and executed when necessary.

  • Strong talent focus and ability to successfully recruit and develop experts from leading organizations.

  • Ability to communicate a compelling vision and inspire others to deliver on an ambitious, complex, roadmap.

  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels within an organization, from the most technical engineer to the most savvy business / executive leader.

  • Possess uncompromising ethics, unwavering integrity and understanding of risk & regulatory process, as well as outstanding communications and interpersonal skills.

  • Deep industry expertise regarding the major line of business activities within Consumer Banking. Broad financial knowledge with knowledge of corporate affairs, financial and economic fundamentals, and business policies, products, processes, systems and roles.

  • Serves as a mentor and coach, as well as being a diversity champion.
