A DAY IN THE LIFE

In this role, you will

  • Manage the review, reporting and finalization functions for the escrow and settlement process for a high volume of files
  • Facilitate a file from the opening of escrow to the funding of the asset through proactive and ongoing communication with all parties involved in the transaction.
  • Act as first point of contact for escalations that pertain to file level assets
  • Assist with the reviewing and resolving of unclear title issues
  • Provide problem solving ideas to Tier I Closing Specialists
  • Attend and participate in calls with clients when loan level assets have issues.
  • Lead strategizing discussions with the team on how to close aged assets
  • Review all related documents to ensure file is eligible for recording and disbursement. (Including but not limited to Deeds, Title work, HOA documents, Utility Bills, etc..)
  • Assist in the follow up of all lending transactions by routinely getting loan updates from the mortgage broker, lender or processor
  • Provide training and support for global support teams to streamline and accelerate closing efforts
  • Use customer feedback and quality performance results to champion training initiatives
  • Manage the needs and expectations of all internal and external customers

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate a file from the opening of escrow to the funding of the asset through proactive and ongoing communication with all parties involved in the transaction.
  • Act as first point of contact for escalations that pertain to file level assets
  • Assist with the reviewing and resolving of unclear title issues
  • Provide problem solving ideas to Tier I Closing Specialists
  • Attend and participate in calls with clients when loan level assets have issues.
  • Perform secondary QC on deeds for clients who have requested the auction team to double check accuracy
  • Lead strategizing discussions with the team on how to close aged assets
  • Review all related documents to ensure file is eligible for recording and disbursement. (Including but not limited to Deeds, Title work, HOA documents, Utility Bills, etc..)
  • Assist in the follow up of all lending transactions by routinely getting loan updates from the mortgage broker, lender or processor
  • Anticipate closing impediments while working with buyers, closing offices, attorney firms to assist in resolving any issues
  • Approve deeds and confirm accuracy of commissions on preliminary settlement statements.
  • Provide regular updates to all parties throughout the life cycle of a file.
  • Obtain title clearance updates from our title partners once to twice a week.
  • Provide training and support for global support teams to streamline and accelerate closing efforts
  • Use customer feedback and quality performance results to champion training initiatives
  • Manage the needs and expectations of all internal and external customers
  • Routinely contact foreclosure attorneys and title teams to obtain updates on unrecorded deeds
  • Actively work with vendors to ensure closing hurdles are being minimized. Vendors to include: Property preservation companies, field services, title and closing vendors, local counties, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma; bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in multi-state real estate transactions, preferably working for a national title agent and/or escrow service
  • Proficient knowledge of real estate transactions and key touch points of a residential title and closing transaction
  • Real Estate, REO, Foreclosure related experience preferred
  • Extensive closing experience required (Default Servicing, REO/ Foreclosure, Trustee, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of all current title regulations, procedures and compliance
  • Working knowledge in Closing/ Escrow including but not limited to: escrow process and documentation, purchase documents, loan requirements, closing procedures, company and state department of insurance requirement, etc.
  • Knowledge of current real estate procedures and laws
  • Excellent customer service skills (internal/ external)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products with an emphasis on Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Assertiveness a must
