-Review, identify any errors in, and correct journal entries
prepared by the corporate accounting team.
-Actively monitor the daily work performed by the staff
accountants, senior staff accountants, and accounting manager to
meet the deadlines of monthly financial statements.
-Distribute accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger
accounting and financial statement reporting tasks among the
corporate accounting team members based on his/her qualification
and experience so that all team members efficiently and accurately
complete the tasks.
-Review draft versions of the monthly, quarterly, and yearly
financial statements to ensure their completeness and accuracy
(income statement, balance sheet, statement of equity, and cash
-Review the calculations and explanations for income statement
fluctuations in the quarterly reports issued to the lenders.
-Research complex technical accounting topics to correctly account
for revenue, equity, and debt transactions under US GAAP.
-Review elimination entries for intercompany accounts and
subsidiaries. Ensure compliance with US GAAP and SOX
-Thoroughly understand and be able to clearly explain US generally
accepted accounting principles (GAAP), business processes,
accounting transaction flows, internal control and accounting
-Identify any gaps in daily application of Highgate standard
accounting policies and procedures and internal controls for
accounting operations and propose corrective actions to fully
comply with them.
-Answer questions from the team members regarding applying cash
receipts to outstanding account receivables.
-Work directly with the Information Technology department to open
new entities in Oracle, create new general ledger accounts in
Oracle, map general ledger accounts to correct line items on the
financial statements, and grant Oracle access to team members in
accordance with internal control best practice.
-Work directly with the Tax department to provide accounting
records for taxable income and expenses.
-Review general ledger account reconciliations in Blackline.
-Verify the accuracy of the explanations compiled by the team
members for the variances between actual, budgeted, and prior
period monthly profit and losses.
-Oversee and direct the activities the outsourced corporate
accounts payable and cash application team located in India.
-Ensure compliance with partnership, debt and management
