Job DescriptionBITCO Corporation is currently seeking a Rater to join our team in Des Moines, IA, Indianapolis, IN, St. Louis, MO, Dallas, TX, or San Antonio, TX. BITCO provides quality property and casualty insurance services to specialized industries including construction, forest products and oil gas.Position Summary:Working as part of the Rating Unit within our home office Business Services team, this position is responsible for processing commercial lines policies/quotes through an automated policy issuance/quoting system. Transactions include quotes, new business, renewals, and endorsements.Primary Responsibilities:Read and comprehend written documents including insurance and policy terms and other factual information Review applications and requests for policy changes to ensure information is accurate in order to complete the rating process; and reports to the Underwriter accordingly Rate policies and changes in such policies, utilizing the company's rating/publishing systemAssist in contacting Underwriting personnel to discuss quotes, renewals, applications, changes and underwriting issues Maintain proficiency in the use of the company's rating/publishing systemMaintain proficiency in the use of ISO, NCCI, and other appropriate online manuals Calculate premiums on endorsements, cancellations, and payment plans Perform other duties as assignedQualifications:Previous Property/Casualty Commercial Lines Insurance experience preferred Knowledge of ISO (Insurance Services Offices) /NCCI (Workers' Compensation) regulationsPrevious experience with insurance rating/publishing system(s) preferred Strong verbal and written communication skillsBasic understanding and application of Microsoft OfficeHigh attention to detail and accuracy Proven ability to stay organized and meet deadlines Strong interpersonal and customer service skillsLocation(s)222 W.
