Responsibilities:
The Information Architect will be responsible for leading the
architecture and design of complex data structures and
applications. This role is part of a federated Enterprise
Architecture team and will collaborate with business leaders as
part of initiatives and Data Goverance Councils, with IT Data
Platform Team's and Product/Application Development teams. This
position will be held accountable for defining and managing data
architecture strategy, standards, guidelines, and processes that
meet business strategic and tactical goals while ensuring data
quality.Provide thought leadership and facilitate the right
discussions with multiple stakeholders (business & technical
leaders, subject matter expert, architects, and engineers) that are
in alignment with current and future state business objectivesIn
collaboration with business subject owners and data stewards, own
and maintain Enterprise Subject Area Models providing clear,
consistent, and intuitive information including data naming and
definitions that are system agnostic and represent the business.Own
and manage Information Ownership Framework driving clarity of the
bounded context for data exposure and consumption across the
ecosystem. Partner closely with Business Architects, Enterprise
Architects and Solution Architects to influence designs and ensure
integration service layers align to this framework.Provide
conceptual information design through Conceptual Data Models and
Entity Relationship diagrams. Oversee Logical and Physical/API
designs and reporting/analytical data products. Provide oversight
and consultation to data modelers, analysts and engineering
partners.Provide current, target, and tranisitonal state Business
Collaboration Diagrams which model cross-functional information
sharing across the enterprise. Provide support and consultation to
product and analytics teams on data sourcing in alignment with
roadmapsTranslate overall Data strategy into actionable business
oriented data management strategies at an enterprise level and
within specific process and data domainsDevelop and manage Critical
Data Elements, Metadata Management, Business Glossary, Technical
Metadata, Data Dictionaries and Data Architecture initiativesIn
conjunction with Data Governance Council, develop governance
roadmap and playbook, collaborate with business and data teams to
define data domainsEnsure mechanisms are in place to monitor and
control access to data and review/ implement data quality
standardsPartner closely with Data Governance partners to ensure
information architecture can be realized through a sustainable
stewardship frameworkAdvocate and drive adoption of "best
practices" and demonstrate a strong bias for architecture
principles balanced with tactical timelines, cost and
risksContribute to architecture guiding principles, development
standards, templates, training and hiringEffectively manage
priorities, deliverables and timelines
Qualifications:
10+ overall relevant IT experience with 5 to 10 years of experience
of as data modeler, data architect or data solution architect with
proven track record of delivery of data lake, data warehouse, data
mart, or other data analytics platforms in a large scale company
(Fortune 500)Extensive of experience of data modeling techniques,
3rd normal form, dimensional modeling and denormalization skills
and experience with other data modeling techniques and associated
toolsExtensive experience with Data Governance tools to catalogue,
manage data lineage and data quality.Extensive experience in
business process modeling using different industry standards to
align process and data flow across the enterprise.Certified in
TOGAFSolid knowledge or experience of a wide range of data
management disciplines including Data Warehousing, Data
Integration, Data Visualization, Integrations, Advanced Analytics,
Cloud Data Platforms, Machine Learning and other emerging data
technologies.Knowledge and/or experience of microservice
architecture, and domain driven design, and semi-structure and
unstructured data schemas.Experience creating and supporting
enterprise-level data domains/information architecture is highly
preferredSolid documentation skills requiredBackground in Retail is
strongly preferredStrong communication, presentation, and
interpersonal skills for interacting and collaborating with other
leaders and associates throughout the organizationTeam-oriented,
with proven ability to work well and collaborate globally across
multiple and disparate teamsExperience in Informatica Data Quality,
Axon and Enterprise Data CatalogExperience implementing data
governance in a larger organization (Fortune 500)Quick learner and
be able to pick new technology as we expand our data governance
footprintAbility to ideate and be able to pursue those ideas to
deliver business valueBachelor's or Masters in Computer Science or
other related field or equivalent work experienceKnowledge of data
governance practices, business and technology issues related to
management of enterprise information assets and approaches related
to data protectionRequired: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in
Data Governance or Data ManagementRequired: Knowledge of data
management and data quality best practices is requiredWork
extremely well with others to build and leverage diverse
relationships to work towards a common goalStrong ability to
analyze and manipulate data and determine trends, along with
presenting the data in an easy to understand and meaningful way
