responsible for supporting the development and implementation of
environmental air, water and waste compliance reports and data
management programs to ensure Luminant Generation and Mining
facilities and operations are in compliance with federal, state,
and local environmental laws and regulations. This position also
will be responsible for supporting permitting and compliance
implementation associated with Luminant Mining facilities to ensure
compliance with environmental regulations as well as Luminant
standards.
Duties will include gathering, analyzing, quality-assuring, and
submitting regulatory reports in a timely and accurate manner by
utilizing multiple environmental software programs, databases and
spreadsheets. Additionally, the position will support and implement
environmental special projects as required or needed by management
to support business operations.Job DescriptionKey
Accountabilities*Must be self-motivated, perform well under
pressure, and be able to sequence and prioritize tasks and organize
and use resources productively to meet high pressure deadlines on
multiple projects.*Ability to effectively communicate with peers
and management. Communication may include written and oral
technical presentations and periodic updates to peers, management,
local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.*The ability to
sequence and prioritize tasks and to organize and use resources
productively to anticipate problems and adjust accordingly.*Review
projects related to development, construction, and operations to
ensure compliance with federal state and local environmental
regulations and obtainment of permits.*Implement environmental
policies and procedures.*Develop a collaborative partnership with
the mines on environmental issues and provide guidance to ensure
compliance with permit requirements and interpretation.*Develop a
working relationship with regulatory agencies.*Strong analytical
skills for assessing operational impact of regulatory proposals,
technical reports, as well as technical issues management. The
incumbent must have a strong background in technical writing to
communicate with industry peers and regulators.*Knowledge of and/or
ability to use data mining, manipulation, and reporting tools such
as SQL, VBA, Excel, ESC StackVision, Enviance, Visual Basic, web
services, Extensible Markup*Language (XML), JAVA, HTML5, and
SharePoint a plus.*Knowledge of Mapping/ AutoCAD programs a plus.
*Occasional travel to Luminant generation facilities, mines, and
other properties may be required. The incumbent must possess a
dedication for personal safety and utilize safe work
practices.Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements*Knowledge of
environmental laws and regulations and willing and able to develop
specialist-level knowledge of the same.*Excellent organizational
skills and ability to effectively manage multiple activities at one
time.*Strong interpersonal and excellent written and oral
communication skills. *Advanced computer skills including data
mining and systems.*High school diploma or equivalent*Experience
gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is
applicable to above skills Key Metrics*Quickly integrate with ES
team and develop good working relationships with peers, site
environmental technicians, and other Luminant personnel*Rapidly
learn role and assume responsibility for assigned projects and
tasks once trained.*Meet all report and project deadlines on or
before due dates.*Demonstrate flexibility and drive in supporting
multiple projects with strict and sometimes changing deadlines.Job
