Description: Job Title: Scientist, Systems Engineering (Radar
Modeling & Algorithms, Electronic Protection) Position: IMS9 Job
Location: Plano, TX Job Description: As a Scientist, Systems
Engineering (Radar Modeling & Algorithms, Electronic Protection),
you will provide technical leadership and take an active role in
growing AS&T's RF signal processing, simulation, and algorithm
development capabilities. You will provide the expertise to develop
algorithms for various RF Skills that support our next generation
multi-function RF sensor products, deliver customer focused
analysis to address a variety of capability gaps and propose
advanced concepts and technology applications. The Advanced Systems
& Technologies (AS&T) division is a part of L3Harris' Agile
Development Group and specializes in developing disruptive,
next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS
/ UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and
other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big
company experience. Essential Functions:
- Provide expertise in Electronic Protection Algorithms,
including waveform design, adaptive cancellation, and cognitivie
methods
- Engage with Electronic Protection community and lead internal
capability development
- Grow RF signal processing, modeling, and simulation
capabilities
- Develop cost, schedule, and execution plans for complex
programs
- Provide leadership through design, development, integration,
and test activities
- Control Account Management of Simulation / Algorithm
development projects
- Update development process and policies, recommend tools, and
influence team strategy
- Analyze data from data collection and design verification test
efforts
- Develop and run simulations and other analysis tools to predict
system performance in various environments
- Present results during internal and external program
meetings
- Mentor junior engineers
- Participate in proposal activities, both cost and
technical
- Ability to obtain and maintain any additional clearances as
required
- Up to 10% travel may be required
- Other duties as required Qualifications:
- U.S. citizen
- Active DoD clearance with current 6 year update
- Bachelors degree in engineering or science
- A minimum of 12 years experience in RF Signal Processing
- Subject matter expert in Radar Signal Processing and experience
with other RF Skills
- Simulation development and performance analysis of RF
systems
- Experience with digital signal processing techniques that
demonstrates proficiency
- Experience w/C++, Matlab, or Python
- Demonstrated experience with mathematics
- Demonstrated experience and ability to summarize detailed
finding or plans for client or L3Harris leadership
- Experience with Microsoft Office products Preferred Additional
Skills:
- Masters degree in engineering or science or related field
and/or equivalent experience desired
- Experience in guidance, navigation and control
- Background in communication theory
- Experience with Digital Array Sensors
- Excellent people skills, with experience leading and
collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team
environment.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, &
presentation)
