alumni.Job DescriptionKIPP Texas Public Schools is seeking a Deputy
Chief of Schools (DCOS)-a visionary and results-driven leader who
will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of education for 54
schools across the state of Texas. As a trusted advisor and partner
to the Chief Schools Officer (CSO), the DCOS will lead the
development and execution of a statewide school management
strategy, ensuring alignment with KIPP Texas's multi-year plan,
academic strategy, and operational priorities.This leader will be
responsible for identifying bright spots and addressing gaps in
academics and student culture, leadership development, and school
management strategies. Through root cause analysis and strategic
problem-solving, the DCOS will assess challenges, guiding Regional
Superintendents (RS) and School Leader Managers (SLMs) to make
data-driven decisions, design systems-wide solutions, and build
instructional leadership capacity, necessary to close performance
gaps and achieve ambitious student outcomes. Additionally, this
leader will manage the office of the CSO, ensuring high standards
of operation across the school management division.As a key driver
of development across school management, the DCOS will set a high
standard for educational excellence, ensuring that School Leaders,
School Leader Managers, and Regional Superintendents, are equipped
with the tools, resources, and coaching needed to navigate
complexities,drive academic growth, and foster strong school
cultures. The role will require a blend of strategic planning,
execution, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring that schools
receive the support they need to rise to the highest levels of

of Staff RetainedKey Responsibilities and DutiesStrategic and
Executive LeadershipCollaborate with and make recommendations to
the CSO and Deputy Chiefs across the School Management Division to
codify a theory of action on school management strategy at KIPP TX
that ensures schools across the state are meeting critical goals
and providing a college preparatory experience for all
students.Serve as a member of the School Management Leadership Team
to implement the school management strategy with fidelity and
cohesion across the state.Act as trusted thought partner to the
CSO.Partner with Academics leadership to ensure alignment between
the academic and school management strategies.Stay abreast of
industry research, trends, and innovations in education, school
management, school improvement, and college preparatory
pathways.School Management OversightOversee the implementation of
the school management and academic strategies.Assess the state of
schools across KIPP texas and identify trends in student outcomes
and teacher and site leader practice.Partner with Regional
Superintendents and School Leader Managers on implementation of
school management best practices and systems-wide solutions to
address trends in schools within regions and across the
state.Design and enact solutions, partnering with academics,
talent, finance, and operations to remove barriers for regions and
schools to deliver on student outcomes and a college preparatory
experience.Partner with the CSO to develop, refine, and execute
leadership development strategies for Regional Superintendents,
SLMs, and School Leaders.Co-design professional development with
the Deputy Chief of Professional Learning to enhance instructional
and leadership capabilities.Assess and address gaps in academics,
leadership, and school management, identifying root causes and
providing actionable recommendations.Guide and coach Regional
Superintendents and SLMs to build essential leadership skills and
implement solutions that drive continuous school
improvement.Monitor progress on key initiatives and use data to
make informed decisions and necessary adjustments.School Management
Division OperationsOversee day-to-day operations within the CSO's
office, ensuring all activities align with KIPP Texas's mission and
goals.Manage the Senior Director of Academic Health.Develop and
implement operating systems that improve school management and
academics strategy execution.Project manage key initiatives,
tracking milestones and ensuring timely execution.Establish
mechanisms for tracking KPIs and organizational priorities,
ensuring schools meet Texas State Accountability and student
achievement benchmarks.Communication & Stakeholder EngagementServe
as the primary point of contact for internal and external
stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and collaboration across
departments.Facilitate cross-functional alignment, ensuring that
broader KIPP Texas strategies effectively support schools.Represent
the CSO in meetings, events, and external engagements as
needed.Collaborate with regional and school leaders to proactively
identify and remove obstacles to achieving student and school

improvement.QualificationsBachelor's degree required; Master's
preferred (Education, Educational Leadership, Non-Profit
Management, Public Administration, or a related field).Minimum 3
years of experience as a successful school leader; school leader
manager or similar experience managing multiple school sites
preferred.Proven track record of driving student achievement and
school improvement at scale.Exceptional strategic thinking,
problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making abilities.Strong
communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to
influence across various levels.Ability to work in a fast-paced,
mission-driven environment and align priorities across multiple

starting point for the salary range for this position is $150K
annually and is commensurate upon experience and
