Consumer Lending serves customers across the country through our distribution network of more than 5,300 retail banking branches and Home Lending offices, as well as online and digital channels.The Role -The Business Initiatives Consultant (BIC) reports directly to the Consumer Lending Control Programs Leader, who reports to the Consumer Lending Control Executive. The BIC will be an active participant of the leadership team, and will provide execution support to enable the Control Programs Leader to effectively manage the team and meet team's strategic priorities and deliverables. This role needs to have outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills as it requires collaboration with the leaders on the Control Programs team and partners from Control organization and Enterprise groups.Specific responsibilities of the Business Initiative Consultant include, but are not limited to: -

  • Act as an execution partner who can dynamically shift focus to address the highest priorities and effectively deliver desired outcomes
  • Develop presentations on behalf of the Control Programs Leader, including relevant business updates, stakeholder presentations and messaging to Control team members
  • Gather information, outline the story, and develop high quality materials used in regular business reviews and leadership meetings.
  • Coordinate leadership meetings, town halls, and other management routines
  • Manage small projects end-to-end.
  • Navigate across the enterprise and build relationships to achieve CL Control goals.
  • Conduct financial analysis, assist in expense management, and resource planning
  • Maintain document repository and shared communication channels
  • Identify and solve problems with minimal guidance using a fact-based approach -
  • Administrative support activities as necessaryRequired Qualifications
    • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planningDesired Qualifications
      • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment
      • A BS/BA degree or higher
      • 5+ years of consulting or regulatory experience in the financial services industry
      • Knowledge and understanding of financial industry associated regulatory standards and agencies
      • Knowledge and understanding of financial controls and risk
      • Ability to influence executive decision-making and successfully negotiate critical issue resolution related to program initiatives
      • Experience developing improvement processes and implementation strategies
      • Experience communicating and presenting complex information to multiple levels of the organization
      • Ability to articulate issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and management
      • Ability to develop operational reporting and performing complex data analysis
      • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
      • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills
      • SharePoint experience
      • Knowledge and understanding of risk management
      • Project management experience
      • Ability to motivate groups and to quickly gain the trust/confidence of executive leaders
      • Ability to facilitate and lead meetings to reach conclusions, identify tasks, record actions, and achieve results
      • Experience supporting senior level leaders/executives
      • Knowledge and understanding of compiling and preparing executive summaries, whitepaper, and presentations for management/senior leaders
      • Ability to prepare and present senior level communicationsOther Desired Qualifications
