Job Description:
Job Description Seeking a US Veteran, National Guardsman,
Reservist, and/or Military Spouse to apply for a Terminal
Dispatcher position. Track and monitor the movement of shipping
containers by coordinating with carriers, customers, railroads, and
IMCs to capture all applicable costs. Verify status, perform data
entry, document activities, and generate reports, and update the
Transportation Management System (TMS). Position requires High
School Diploma (GED) and 2 years of related experience with
importing and exporting of goods, plus full COVID-19 vaccination.
Day shift - 9am-6pm or 10am-7pm (flexible) Primary Objectives
Monitor rail container position and take appropriate action to
ensure timely receipt at terminal. Coordinate with accounts payable
staff to dispute or reconcile invoice exceptions. Escalate issues
to dispatcher or manager as appropriate. Responsibilities: Veteran
Military Perform daily track/trace. Monitor and communicate status
updates for all rail containers. Closely track and monitor traffic
movements to and from destinations and respond to tracing requests
from customers, dispatchers, and sales. Monitor rail movement,
in-gate and out-gate activity, gate reservations, flip/lift
requests, storage payment guarantees, and all other related
activities using specified online systems and internal TMS under
the direction of dispatchers and dispatch management. Monitor
in-gate and out-gate activity with dispatchers, for both import and
export cargo at all rail hubs to minimize storage charges and cargo
delays. Update TMS and maintain daily performance records, control
logs, and dispatch-related file systems. Understand and adhere to
all vendor policies to avoid storage and per diem charges. Examine
vendor invoices to ensure the dispatch system reflects the correct
costs. Ensure TMS is up-to-date with current costs for any given
period. Work with accounts payable department to research and
evaluate exception invoices. Coordinate with vendors to
troubleshoot invoice issues and request corrected invoices. Work
with dispatchers to reconcile discrepancies between dispatch system
and vendor invoices. Respond quickly and accountably to updates and
changes to processes, procedures, and information. Requirements:
Veteran Military US Veteran, Guardsman, Reservist, and/or Military
Spouse High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required 2 years of
related experience in the importing and exporting of goods required
Basic proficiency with transportation or operations management
software preferred Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office
(Word - Basic), (Excel - Intermediate) Fast and accurate data entry
skills Strong computer skills with the ability to become proficient
with computerized tracking systems rapidly Ability to effectively
utilize reference materials, documentation, and written and verbal
instructions to execute work Strong critical thinking and
problem-solving skills Full COVID-19 vaccination The company is an
