Inventory Manager

Job Description:

This talented individual will be responsible for driving strategic sourcing activities, managing and fostering relationships with internal business units and suppliers, ensuring appropriate supply and demand for sourced parts, negotiating terms and conditions to ensure risks are minimized. As a Senior team member, this individual will lead continuous process improvement initiatives, with a focus on procurement cost savings, efficiencies, and drive projects through detailed technical and financial negotiations. This role will take a lead and assist in development of others in contract management, strategic sourcing, planning, supplier relationship development, developing systems and tools while maintaining quality and improving bottom line costs.

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*

90% Category Management and Vendor Relationship Management:

- Strategically develop key category supply base to obtain significant cost savings and ROI for NEC.

- Conduct RFx activities. (e-Auctions, traditional, etc.)

- Negotiate new and existing contracts

- Daily supply management and reporting of key metrics on a regular basis to ensure performance is as expected

- Implement and maintain strategic supplier alliance relationships

- Conduct quarterly business reviews with critical suppliers

- Create and maintain departmental performance and supplier performance scorecards on a regular basis

- Develop sourcing strategies to consolidate vendors and optimize spend and availability

- Stay abrest of market conditions impacting supply continuity

- Train team members in strategic methodologies to increase the strength and success of the Procurement organization at NEC.

- Support external NEC functional area to help obtain key business results

- Partner with vendors to establish volume agreements that take advantage of economies of scale and leverage the purchasing power of NEC on a Global, Regional, and local level. Support the integration of Global contracts.

- Strong attention to detail, experience in reviewing legal procurement documents such as SOWs and Contracts

- Monitor progress against assigned Procurement initiatives and specific country cost savings initiatives, while providing improvement plan support and updates to senior leadership on emerging opportunities/risks.

- Responsible for working with all levels of the organization to transform raw business requirements for professional services into actionable scope of works/specifications, conduct supplier search and RFI, development sourcing strategies and RFP, lead negotiations, develop and present supplier selection and contract award recommendations and to development of well- constructed contract documents.

- Develop, implement and manage supplier agreements and supply programs. Implement processes to measure and improve supplier performance and manage internal spend compliance. Act as liaison between the suppliers and the sites regarding key issues.

10% Procurement Project Management:

- Identify, plan, execute, track, and report procurement projects, generating savings in cost/quality/service.

- Ability to forecast, develop, and implement organizational initiatives.

- Ability to think strategically and programmatically.


*Education: *

Bachelor degree or equivalent Procurement experience at Manager's discretion

*Experience: *

Eight or more years strategic procurement experience including:

Project management experience and driving metrics based cost savings

Proven Vendor Management and Strong Negotiating Skills

Advanced Excel Skills using VLookups and Pivot Tables

*Certifications, Licenses, etc: *

C.P.M. and/or CPSM/Six Sigma certification a plus.

*Specialized Knowledge and Skills*

*Language Skills: * Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

*Mathematical Skills: * Excellent at analysis

*Reasoning Skills: * Principles of budget planning, preparation, and control. Principles of project costs controls and related software. Principles of project scheduling. Standard process, procedures and policy documentation. Ability to resolve issues quickly and make decisions that meet objectives, in a collaborative culture. Detail-oriented and ability to work well under time constraints and with multiple initiatives. Expertise and skill in dealing with all levels of the organization. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Sarbanes Oxley exposure. Strong MS Office skills. Proficiency with ERP system PD software. Strong management, quantitative analysis, organizational, project management, negotiation and senior level communication skills required.

*Computer and/or Technical Skills: *

Advanced in SAP or similar ERP system

Advanced in MS Office and data analysis

*Work Environment and Physical Demands*

General Work Environment: General office environment.

Travel: Less than 10%

Supervisory Responsibility, if any: No supervisory responsibilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
