Role Summary:The Head of Business Implementation and Production is responsible for code development, implementation and production for Business models (Acquisition, Existing Customer Management, Collections, etc) managed by the Personal Banking and Wealth Management (PBWM) Risk Modeling Utility (RMU). This role drives implementation and production activities on US Card (Brands and CRS), Retail, Mortgage, Wealth Management and Small Business portfolios. The role reports to the Head of Model Implementation and Execution and manages a team of 30+ in multiple geographical locations.This role requires thorough understanding of code development, testing, deployment, and execution of credit risk models in an automated environment. Strong leadership and communication skills are a must for this role.Responsibilities:

  • Manage code development, implementation, and production of business decision models
  • Own coding, implementation and production standards and ensure all controls or properly evidenced and completed
  • Modernize and transform the implementation and coding function to reflect the diverse operational environments present in each portfolio
  • Manage teams in multiple locations globally
  • Partner with the Business Modeling to implement new and modify existing models (supporting 750+ models)
  • Partner with Risk Systems & Strategy Execution team transform production environments across PBWM
  • Partner with the business data and data oversight teams to ensure models are optimally implemented in the production platform and data extracted from approved sources.
  • Lead engagement with 2nd line (Model Risk Management) to ensure model implementation documentation is properly submitted and reviewed
  • Lead engagement with 2nd and 3rd line teams (Fundamental Credit Risk and Internal Audit) in support of audits and reviews
  • Partner with senior RMU leaders to ensure priorities align with RMU goals and objectives.Qualifications:
    • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or other technical degrees that emphasize coding skills and business process automation
    • 15+ years experience in code development, deployment, code execution supporting business process. Advanced degree will count towards years of experience
    • 8+ years of leadership experience in technology, code development, implementation, execution or quality assurance within the financial services or a related industry
    • A proven track record in leading strategic change in a complex environment to create sustainable improvement in service, cost, productivity, and controls.
    • Experience leading re-organization and uniting teams to work collaboratively.
    • Self-directed, motivated, and managed; ability to deal with imperfect information, decision and drive to successful conclusions.
    • Ability to handle constant pressure and juggle multiple demands.
    • Demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries and geographies.
    • Excellent organization skills; must be able to manage disparate tasks, project plans and ad-hoc teams without solid lines of authority.
    • Strong analytical, strategic thinking and communication skills - must have ability to synthesize, develop and present clear and concise recommendations.
    • Collaborative and team player, ensuring overall business success.
    • Exceptional influencing skills with sound judgment and decision-making skills.
    • Familiarity with risk models across a range of consumer products, e.g. mortgage, home equity lines of credit, cards and personal loans.
