We are seeking a talented individual for a Enterprise Architect who participates directly in the development of the strategic direction for the HMS Enterprise Architecture; directs the resolution of specific tactical architecture issues in order to proactively identify and resolve issues to avoid negative impacts on the business due to architecture direction. Helps to drive the definition, implementation and governance of HMS' reference architecture. The reference architecture will be leveraged to effectively support the current corporate business strategy as well as position the company to be agile, positioned for growth and prepared for the next strategic business opportunity. This position has a direct and clear impact on the success of HMS' key business strategies and direction. The Enterprise Architect also plays a critical role in the overall Enterprise Architecture change management process to help galvanize HMS resources in order to make significant shifts in how they do their work so that each initiative moves HMS towards the realization of the reference architecture. Essential Responsibilities: * Operates across organizational and computing "silos" to drive common approaches and expose information assets and processes across the enterprise. * Promotes shared infrastructure, enterprise data and applications to reduce costs and improve information flows. * Provides leadership for the implementation and governance of the HMS Reference Architecture including our Application Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture, Enterprise Data Architecture, Integration Architecture, and User Experience (UX). * Leads the development of policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of technology within the enterprise. * Ensures the effective establishment of HMS' Enterprise Architecture discipline. * Plays a critical role in advancing the development of key Enterprise Architecture Blueprints and Roadmaps. * Participates and leads key Enterprise Architecture Governance Teams including the Architecture Review Board (ARB). * Ensures the adherence to standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions including architecting and implementing solutions requiring the integration of multiple platforms, operating systems and applications across the enterprise. * Interfaces across multiple business areas to ensure that the appropriate capabilities, performance, speed to market, and cost characteristics are accounted for in the architecture. * Helps to manage the portfolio of Enterprise Architecture driven projects. * Tracks, reports, and acts on appropriate metrics for IT efforts across the portfolio. * Ensures alignment of IT goals and plans with corporate strategies. * Works across IT to ensure alignment of all areas on technical direction. * Effectively manages operating expenses within the established budget; consistently reviews opportunities to improve expense ratios; recommends strategic investments. * Works with key business leaders to ensure alignment of business and technology. * Acts as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor and change agent. Non-Essential Responsibilities: * Performs other functions as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Ability to participate in the development and governance of key technical design decisions in the areas of Integration, Application, Infrastructure, * Enterprise Data, Enterprise, and Solution Architecture. * Understanding and use of data architectures. * Ability to thoughtfully craft business cases and models for technology. * Ability to partner with product and operational leadership to craft the adjacent technology strategy to key initiatives. * Demonstrated ability to think strategically. * Demonstrated ability to influence peers, business partners and other key leaders. * Demonstrated ability to balance the need to develop and implement well-conceived enterprise architecture with the pragmatic need to deliver short and long term business results. * Demonstrated success in directing the development of architecture blueprints and roadmaps. * Demonstrated ability to think conceptually and understand the 'big picture'. * Knowledge of EA frameworks such as TOGAF. * Project and program management planning and organizational skills. * Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical people. * Ability to present materials to IT and business executives. * Demonstrated ability to understand emerging trends in architecture and how they could be leveraged to add business value at HMS. * Has significant knowledge of programming languages, infrastructure components, enterprise data approaches, and object-oriented and service oriented approaches to developing technical solutions. * Has an active and ongoing interest in maintaining knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the business. * Demonstrated depth of both business knowledge and technical expertise. * Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with peers and business partners across the corporation. * Demonstrating a high degree of knowledge of multiple software delivery methodologies.
