It all begins with you.The Chief Operating Office (COO) is responsible for delivering a more consistent approach to business operations across Wells Fargo, strengthening the company---s risk and control infrastructure, and delivering effective and efficient enterprise services to employees and customers.The COO group includes the head of Operations, who is jointly responsible for line of business operations with each of the five LOB CEOs. Operations functions include contact center operations, client servicing support, money movements within our businesses, lending operations, and other functions.The COO group also includes a number of teams dedicated to strengthening Wells Fargo---s risk and control infrastructure. These include the Control Executive team; Regulatory and Policy Affairs; Enterprise Customer Excellence; Sales Practices Oversight and Management; and Strategic Execution and Operations.The Chief Administrative Office, encompassing the Corporate Properties Group; Corporate Security; Enterprise Business Resiliency; Strategic Programs and Process Improvement; Enterprise Change Management; Supply Chain Management; and Data Management and Insights, delivers important services for our employees and customers.The Operations Utilities Control Officer for Financial Crimes Operations FCO/KYC will provide strategy and leadership in transforming and managing the risk environment for this utility across Wells Fargo to ensure a more consistent experience for our customers and operate more efficiently. This includes aligning to the operational model outlined by the Control Director for FCO/KYC, driving efficiency across specific areas of responsibility within FCO/KYC, understanding and maintaining an appropriate control environment for those areas, ensuring compliance with company policies and designing and executing process improvements, including leveraging technology, to automate processes and implementation of internal controls.Leads and influences partnerships with the business process owner by consulting and providing expertise and strategic direction in the control design to effectively mitigate risks, including design of effective means of measurement.Contributes to the development and enhancement of the business control environment through execution of the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program.Engages in the development and implementation of new controls, action plans, and root cause analysis.Supports the-- Business with implementation of Control programs by providing consultative guidance.Assesses and designs appropriate metrics to inform and monitor the health of the operational risk environment.Supports a strong risk management culture through the implementation of key risk management programs into the standard operating framework of the business.Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in risk management or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk managementOther Desired QualificationsThe Officer chosen for this role will be responsible for day-to-day risk management within the FCO/KYC utility with primary focus on:
    • Supporting the centralized FCO Utility delivery model integration for effectiveness, sustainability and scalability.--
    • Partnering with stakeholders within COO and the lines of business to identify opportunities and influence change along with the Director and Sr. Officer.--
    • End-to-end knowledge of FCO policies, procedures and operating model including systems and platforms used to carry out activities along with key risks and controls.
    • Support to exam teams for Audits, Regulatory Exams and Compliance Testing & Validation across this utility as needed.
    • Root cause analysis of operational errors/gaps and partnership with Operations to ensure sustainable solutions are implemented that address the root cause.
    • Timely completion of issues and corrective actions in a sustainable manner; conduct independent validation of the actions taken prior to closure.
    • Internal control reviews to validate the effectiveness of key controls.
    • Continuous assessment of key risks and appropriateness of controls for timely identification of significant risks and issues that supports the evolving business and regulatory environment.
    • Effective reporting that synthesizes large amounts of data into a clear, concise, complete status for leadership that outlines the status of the risk environment (i.e. significant control activities, status of audits and exams, outstanding issues and corrective actions, critical information security breaches, etc.)
    • Strong Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Know Your Customer (KYC) knowledge, including a solid comprehension of the onboarding/KYC lifecycle.
    • Ability to synthesize large amounts of information, analyze and proactively problem solve.
    • Experience in assessing end-to-end processes to identify operational risk and determine the adequacy of controls.
    • Inquisitive and proactive in identifying risks and proposing solutions.
    • Ability to be proactive, innovative and creative in meeting customer and enterprise needs.-- Self-starter who is inquisitive able to work in a fast paced, results-driven environment.
    • Proven ability to identify business risks and process inefficiencies, with proven ability to plan and execute process improvements to mitigate such risk and inefficiencies, particularly by leveraging systems and automation.
    • Exposure and experience dealing with regulatory agencies and internal audit assessments and meeting regulatory requirements and/or working in regulated environments.
    • Initiative and strong influencing skills with ability to build rapport easily and influence a range of internal and external, technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Proven collaboration skills to achieve solutions that meet the needs of the organization; able to resolve issues, and overcome obstacles.
    • Experience presenting/preparing executive summaries, whitepapers, and presentations for executive management, senior leaders, board members and regulators.
    • Ability to operate both at the strategic and detailed level.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas and/or data simply and craft clear and compelling stories for executive engagement and influence.
    • Ability to prioritize work, meet tight deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.Job Expectations
