Job Description:
The recently established Global Business Risk and Control group
is responsible for the development of consistent control frameworks
and the subsequent effort to conform front line controls and
monitoring to these new standards across the enterprise. The group
partners with the business and Risk teams to develop consistent
approaches and practices that ensure we have the right checks and
balances in place to minimize errors and issues. This includes
driving front line controls remediation, control risk execution,
and monitoring effectiveness throughout the enterprise.
The Controls Automation Strategy Team (CAST) is a subset of the
Tools, Reporting, Analytics, and Capabilities team within the
Global Business Risk and Control group. CAST provides strategy,
planning, and the delivery of control automation solutions for the
enterprise. The team is comprised of a diverse set of skills that
span across Business / Product, Technology, Risk, and Program
Management disciplines.
The Controls Automation Strategy Business Analyst wil l support the
driving direction and maturity for compliance automation by way of
problem solving, process mapping, process re-design, requirements
gathering, procedural documentation, etc. This role will also
require the ability to easily adapt to the needs of the business,
analyze and interpret data efficiently.
Key responsibilities include the following:
- Create processes, to include governance, for the control
automation resource tool.
- Data collection and evaluation
- Analyze results or metrics and meet with key subject matter
experts to help identify potential improvements or evaluate
different alternate solutions, including recommending process
changes, system enhancements or other options.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships across the business
units to implement and standardize processes.
- Coordinating work streams that focus on data, technology,
product initiatives
- Assembly, development and structuring of presentation
decks
- Analyze, identify and support the program through solution
identification and requirements gathering.
- Test business processes and recommend improvements.
- Manage reports, dashboards, and visualizations to understand
business performance.
- Create and maintain user manuals for training and operational
procedures that will increase end user efficiencies and
productivity.
- Act as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team
members.
- Foster communication between business leaders and IT
stakeholders facilitating exchange of ideas/information in a
concise and logical manner.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made,
demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation
and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving
compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to
Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal
behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing
and reporting control-related matters with transparency, as well as
effectively supervise the activity of others and create
accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

- Ability to work independently and in a team across levels, and
functions, with understanding of how collaboration accomplishes
objectives.
- Required skills include project management, quantitative
aptitude, and the ability to effectively synthesize and communicate
complex business issues through concise presentation skills.
- Extensive project management and strategic analysis
experience.
- Interest and experience in the financial services industry, in
particular in the areas of technology and data mining.
- Confident with stakeholders at various levels with the ability
to influence decision
- Proven interpersonal, data analysis, diplomatic, management and
prioritization skills
- Highly motivated, strong attention to detail, team oriented,
organized
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, including
executive presentation development and delivery skills
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years relevant business experience in large
organizations (preferably financial services)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite to include MS Access
and/or Power BI
- Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives,
root cause analysis and project management.
- Subject matter expertise in Controls Automation, as
demonstrated by work experience and/or certification.
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical, engineering, or business
field.
- Master's Degree preferred. -
